I have the 2.0 diesel auto grand C max version, and it drives and handles incredibly well. The rear sliding doors are great, but the intro graphics controls are fiddly. Excellent car all in all 👍

A decent spec DB11 here in the States has appreciated about 20% in value sine the C19 outbreak. If (when) that price point returns back to the mean, I will buy one. Sketchy economy could bring opportunity soon. Thats my hope anyway.

We like our 2015 C max II, but there are annoying details: - Wheel lug nuts: Not chrome plated nuts, but the steel nut is capped with a stainless steel cover. Very stupid thing. When the steel nut start to corrode, it pushes the cover outside, and you can not use the 19mm wheel nut wrench any more. I recommend to replace all wheel nuts immediately. - Ford saved a few cents on the toolkit as well. Very, very primitive. - The older models have Sync 2 computer, wich was obsolete even in 2015. - The plastic parts are undersized. Be careful when operating any of them. - The 3 cylinder 1.0 Ecoboost engine is powerful enough for a granddad like me, but at idle rev, it shakes like a Harley. All in all, The C max II is not a bad car, but belongs to the lower middle nivo - because of the cost saving everywhere.

This is a good review. Thank you. I'm actually going to pick up a new Kuga FHEV tomorrow :) I agonised over PHEV vs FHEV. Really loved the all-electric town driving option of the plug-in, but finally opted for the latter, given that I could get AWD (a feature high up on my list). An added bonus is s-l-i-g-h-t-l-y more boot space.

In the USA the Polestar also has a $7500 EV tax credit advantage over Tesla and GM. Good review - often reviewers compare the Polestar 2 to the Tesla Model 3 and don't mention that the Polestar 2 is a hatchback and therefor a lot more practical. It should really now be compared to the Tesla Model Y rather than the 3.

Based on this and Matt Watson's review of this car, I've just bought one, so thanks for the informative, unbiased review folks. Not sure of the presenter's name, but such silky smooth presentation. Harks back to a time of proper english pronunciation and clarity of voice. Well done. A quick question if I may; In this presentation, and indeed a couple of others I have seen, it clearly shows the hatchback version (which is what I am getting), as having roof rails, together with the panoramic sunroof. I have asked the question of my local Ford dealer, and been told that it is impossible to have roof rails and the attendant lateral bars without impeding the operation of the sunroof. And yet, you seemingly CAN have this option. Or, is there a half way house, whereby you can mount roof rails/bars but not be able to use the sunroof? This solution would be fine by me, if that is the workaround. I've even seen this exact same question asked on a forum, and that also revealed a confusing set of differing answers. Do you folks have THE definitive answer? Cheers.

I’ve had mine for almost 5 years, drive every year to France - 640 miles in one day, 4 adults, one child, dog and all our luggage. I get 57mpg (1.6hdi) on that journey 80 mph where allowed and the rest at 60-70mph.

I drive one of thes it is a doddle.Plenty of space very comfortable seats.I supposed to change this year.Motability car.I can't see anything better on the market try to keep it another year.The 1.5 Turbo diesel is quick.All this nonsense about handling I have outrun many cars if i put my foot down.Even at 72 I still get carried away sometimes.

In depth review is five thumbs 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿 The EGOLF shifter made it the best EV to drive The new ID.3 shifter they copied from the i3 is JUNK bring back the old shifter or bring back the EGolf. VW missed it on copying junk when there shifter was way way better than any Ev on the market

The shifter is junk?? You'd base the entire car based on a shifter? You litterly have no idea 🤣🤣 to say the ID.3 is superior to the golf is a complete understatement! The eGolf had shit range because it's build upon an ICE platform so therefore not fit for purpuse. The eGolf was quickly killed off because it's an obsolete chassis, soon to be obsolete product. The ID.3 is a brilliant car, which is the general feedback from every single reviewer. In fact they all praised shifter 😭

Definitely the deal breaker VW had the best driving experience with the half tank economy ev with the egulf. Now its just like all the rest with the crappy windshield wiper shifter. 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿. And nobody is talking about ??????

@@ClarionCaww And how many miles a kw are you getting??? My egolf I get on average 4.6 miles a kw and if i take her real easy i can get 5.6 miles a kw. I dont think your even getting close to those numbers but your right its a much superior car. Lol 😂 😂 😂 You gain all the extra regen with the easy access on stick shift smart guy. Egolf shifter like a nice audi ID.3 shifter like a crappy nissan leaf 🍁 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

@@midgetShootingGunsAK @MidgetshootingGunsAk I'd never go for a car with a battery as small as the eGolf. May work for you but not for me. Ive not checked my KW per KM but I don't need too nor obsess about it as I've enough range to not care. I know that when charged to 80%, in the winter time, the realistic range is about 280km. This includes heating on all the time etc. I can go an entire week with only one charge even in the winter. In the spring/summer, add another +80kms. I still don't understand your endearment towards the gear shift 🤣, it's a complete pain in the arse having to change a gear. This big stupid prod sticking up beside you that you have to use! 😭 the ID.3 obvs has none and in it's place is loads of storage. It's an absolute joy to drive without one. I had to drive my wife's 1year old Diesel 2L diesel the other day and it reminded me how shit gear sticks really are. Was like driving an agricultural machine. So, I'm delighted you love the eGolf and the gear shift, but the Golf is going to be a legacy model soon and VW are 100% committed to the ID range. They are the future and will only get better. The Golf was a good car and nice to drive, but the ID.3 is even better, IMHO

@@ClarionCaww Funny how you wont say your mile per kw. How does that not matter how far you can get with the same amount of money. That is how much power it is costing you to run it. Only only reason I got a ev a egolf was my powerstroke diesel dually 1 ton was costing way to much money on fuel. Since it has doubled since everyone started taking it from biden in the rear. Thats called savings how does that not matter to you. Plug in at work make them pay for my drive there 👽👽Biggest difference is you can go further on a egolf per kw. You dont have to use your generator you can just leave it in drive if thats what you want to do. The point of having 4 different regen modes you can climb the hill go over the speed limit hit regen 1 or 2 and make up power works even better if there is a stop sign at the bottom of the hill. Even coming in at lights. You cant do that with the one brake option on the iD.3. They need to bring back the egolf shifter on the Id.3. And then they would have nailed it. But they missed it on that option they had gold. Dont know about you euros but in america we want the funniest best driving experience and get the farthest out of it. They nailed it with the egolf. Wish we could get more here all that is here are a million teslas everywhere hardly any VW s.
