So with wing going in motion and the candience timing, how can you run this and go on 2

The wing moves on set when he reaches his location about two or three bunny hops back he stops. Sets up like a normal back then on second go play continues. Works great on sniffer up the middle or Qb keeper fake lion

@@doublewingyouthfootball use the diagram to show the play. Edit out the moving of the pieces back and forth unless you’re doing it for a specific reason. That’s where I get caught up. Maybe put the name of the play on the screen as u demonstrate the play. That way we always know which play we’re looking at.

Great stuff here coach. I love the options off of the same look, I think this will be really effective. I just finished my first year coaching 8/9 year olds, and I wish I had found this sooner. We ran a wider wing T set with some success but I like this formation more.

This isn’t a good version of the DW. WHERE IS THE TOSS POWER? where is the pulling? Ur handing off the main base play? The FB should be kicking out the DE on almost every play…. I dunno man but this looks nothing like the true DW.

There is pulling and pitches. You didn’t watch the video if you didn’t see it. “Toss power” is lightning or rocket.

@@coachb7373 after the first play. The Qb goes through the motion of a pitch. There is no line in this video. Check out the other videos with a full team and see pull guards pitches and even options.

This may be the DW formation but you’re not running it right. The motion doesn’t go straight back. Barely pulling. There isn’t a toss power that I can see which is the single play that EVERY DW Team needs to run as their base. I dunno but this to me looks horrible.

We were very successful and so are other teams running it. Toss is Rocket lightning. Guards pull. No need for hate. Feel free to run it your way. You see he nfl now run the counter from my videos. They even talked about it on Monday night football. Peyton manning brought it up. Lion and rhino are hand offs. The “reverse pivot” pitch is lightning and rocket. The wing on the running side blocks the DE and the full back and quarterback lead block. But feel free to run what works for you.

Your power toss is set up like a single wing and you have the blocking wing on the line. You wings are not behind the tight ends like they should be. The playbook is set up for all plays to look the same. Exactly the same. But if you are power right the weak side defensive end takes out the Qb for bootlegs and blitz the run side. Too easy to stop if the plays don’t look the same at “set”

@@doublewingyouthfootball no actually my power toss is based on the actual DW that Don Markham used which was written about in “the Toss”. Might want to read it. And your wing’s DEFINITELY don’t line up behind the TEs. That’s why they’re wings

@@coachb7373 I believe we used Tim Murphy version from his book when he won valley championship in California. But either way. This is a double wing formation made for the development of youth football players. The verbiage is easy. It’s even used in my son high school team. Lasso rodeo whip one word is all they need. Don’t be stuck in the past because “that’s what they did”. Adjust.

@@lionandthetruth well with 4 championships under my belt I think I’ll be fine. I play in California D1 youth. This doesn’t look anything like Tim Murphys shotgun DW. I’ve attended several of Tim’s practices and his coaching sessions he’s done in California. He doesn’t use this.

There's a lot of things that you're doing that aren't really the TRUE doublewing. In your videos I dont' see you show ONE single Power toss which SHOULD make up about 80% of your playcalls in the DW. I see a toss sweep, but for power you use a handoff. The DW doesn't do this. We toss with the QB and the QB leads thru the hole. Also you should never fake toss and then handoff on counter... Cause you're showing the defense where the ball is which is exactly what you don't want to do. Also you seem to be using one puller, where the true DW uses AT LEAST two. Most teams use either the G/T on the backside, or GATE pull with the guard and Tight end. What you are running is a simplified version of the DW but leaving out KEY ELEMENTS that make the DW unstoppable..... Check out Coach B on KZbin also known as Double Wing Coach on all the youth football forums..... Not going to lie Coach, bought your playbook and I am extremely disappointed. 60 pages for $10 and there’s about 10 pages worth of plays. The rest? Just stories?? Based on your KZbin videos, I was excited for the purchase, however, respectfully, not worth the money.

I’m sorry you feel that way. I actually offer it for free. The story is the book and I include the plays with it. My email is in the description. If I get a email. Send the whole playbook and usually a few of extras. For free. I even give away a printable wrist coach. The basic plays of the offense is the core to calling every play after. It gives coach’s an opportunity to use their offense with a core running and play calling. I’ve won many games with no more than those plays. Feel free to email for the playbooks. Also the plays in the book are every play ran in the videos. No more no less. No secrets

Things have changed. Hoovers Qb was at Buchanan. Receivers are from the area. Defensive player of the year is on Hoover. Over the summer Hoover didn’t struggle against any school in the valley. Scored against clovis, clovis west and liberty. Buchanan will take last in clovis. Buy some popcorn check out a game. Hoover is legit.

I’ve ran this exact DW offense for the last 3 seasons. We’ve went 21-3 and 2 league championships. Two of the losses was in the first year running it and the third loss was in the second season. This offense works!!

Ran this for many years with MUCH success and LOVED IT, looks sooo coool. We even would go to no huddle inthe playoffs,then went to single wing. I foung that tilting the field has a bigger atvantage in youth football and it is easier to teach. The only time DW did not work is when I got TOO SMART,only ran 7 plays, 1. WEDGE, 2. Power Lt and Rt, 3.counter "inside" the DE or LB/ Lt and Rt, 4.Sweep Lt and Rt, 5.Rev "outside" the DE or LB/ Lt and Rt, 6. a 9 route off the play action of Power, 7. a pass to the TE or WB in the flat. IF you make them FEAR the wedge or make them THINK you might run it, this is hard to beat. UNLESS most of the other team is bigger, faster, stronger and WELL COACHED

That sounds like you and your teams had lots of fun. Lots of kids loving the game and returning to play. Yeah the only time it didn’t work was when we were over matched position to position. Then we ran rocket pass then spread the backs to run it in a RPO option style. We also drained the clock. If we can’t stop you, you are not going to get the ball.

Obesity isn’t the key. The valley has lots of great players. These players went up against the clovis kids over the summer and did just fine. We hope the teams do great. Answer is on the field. Not on the internet

I believe clovis high is the only clovis school with a QB over 6’1. Fresno state is always undersized. They do fine. Besides so many kids transfer from clovis or to Clovis no one is identified by their community anymore. Except some of these fresno schools. The valley has some good teams. This season will be exciting
