After years of playing my favorite harp is one that doesn't have the key stamped on it! Worn off like smooth leather and plays like a dream

I must assume that this type of music and show was rather new to Germany at that time: 1989… Delbert was (and is) known to insiders only. What a pity!

When touring with the Beatles in the beginning, he taught John Lennon how to play the harmonica. John played the harmonica in "Love Me Do". Thank you, Delbert!

@@the-magictones It was an honest report of what I said, out loud, when I heard his vocal. I've posted a lot of blues vids on my channel. Hard core piano blues (on the jazzy tip like this) fans like my vids I will post a version of this song soon. Stay tuned. Thanks for the post.

As Yoda remarked in 89'.. "Delbert... you ARE the Force". If Payin' Your Dues drew interest, Delbert would be the wealthiest man in the Universe. The man has been around so long, he taught John Lennon harp licks before the Beatles ever crossed the Pond. A man who has impressed people and made friends all over the World. I heard Vince Gill, of all people, give the best description of Delbert I ever heard. He said, "Man.....Delbert.... the way he walks, the way he moves doing just normal everyday things... the way he talks...... Man, he's just Musical". I also heard...that if looks could kill, that guitar player that blew that solo would have left in a body bag. Peace

It seems to me both, Frankie Miller and Delbert McClinton, are great singers. Just give Delbert a little bit of credit as he is performing in front of a German TV studio audience that most likely never heard of him (or the song) before.
