If you actually think about it though they only reason Christians will stick to this is because its such a lazy way of thinking like you think you are forgiven because a human decided to sacrifice himself… here in Islam you have to genuinely work to get yourself to heaven which is so much more logical why would such an almighty being just let anyone in heaven just because a man died for you 😂
@gnomi523618 күн бұрын
Lol interesting perspective, I've not thought of it as lazy before The Bible says it's because God's standard for what is good/righteous/holy isn't actually reachable for anyone except Jesus, we all reject him in some way or another (eg. Isaiah 53:6) And he accepts this substitution because he loves us and wants to both uphold justice and be in a relationship with us I'm a Christian myself, and I've wondered; in Islam, do you feel like you're able to be confident that you're going to heaven?
@maxowens743718 күн бұрын
@@gnomi5236 see thats where we differ as in Islam its all about that personal connection between god and his creation. As i never agreed with the crucifixion of Jesus as it shows for Christians to be forgiven a human had to be sacrificed which is linking to paganism my friend where as in islam we have to repent and actually mean it and show we are sorry through good deeds
@maxowens743718 күн бұрын
But to add to the last part in Islam every single Muslim will go to heaven at some point but all of the ‘bad eggs’ that didn’t repent or do anything to rectify their wrongdoings will be going to hell for a set amount of time for their wrongdoings and obviously its eternal so that period of time could be millions of years for all we know but if you die a Muslim you are guaranteed heaven at some point down the line. Does this make sense to you brother?
@gnomi523614 күн бұрын
@@maxowens7437 Ah huh, I think to me the idea of death being the consequence of sin isn't that crazy because it's all throughout the Old Testament, where people are killed for their wickedness, and animal sacrifices are done to signify the weight of sin. (eg. Adam and Eve are given animal skin to wear, the Passover, sacrifices at the temple) That makes me think you'd appreciate the book James; it mentions the worthlessness of faith that doesn't result in action Because indeed, Christians also are to want to grow more like and closer in relationship with God

@kingkoop732621 күн бұрын
I wouldn't use the egg analogy, it makes God seem kinda schizophrenic, acting as the Son the Father and the Holy Spirit. I prefer the "Race" understanding. The Godhead isn't a "race" but it does help to understand God that way. So my Grandfather, my Father and my self are not the same person but we are the same race, 3 persons, one being and that "being" is the human race, it's WHAT we are but not WHO we are.
@kingkoop732621 күн бұрын
Jesus is God (what He is) Jesus is the Son(who He is), same for the Father and the Holy Spirit. In that understanding, Jesus can be God and the Son of God. He can be separate to the Father (bc He's the Son) and He can be One with the Father (bc He's God) same way I can be one with my family (we're all humans) but I'm not all my family, I'm not my mother, Father, sister and brother

I believe when we carry out acts of kindness, patience, gentleness, self control, etc towards others, they are the fruit of the spirit and they're based on love. Without God there can't be "true love" because He is love. He is also The Spirit from Whom this fruit comes from. So like it or not, you might not believe in God but He's still there. He placed this fruit on the inside of you because He created you. You can't take take the credit for it because it's a gift from Him to you, to pass onto others. Just my thoughts on this.

I liked most of this podcast, but here’s a thought. When I went to jury duty three summers ago, I was wearing the cross that my father had bought me. We were required to wear a mask, and another attendee assumed that I would not believe in wearing a mask or getting vaccinated against COVID because I was wearing a cross. Therefore, what I’m trying to say is, I don’t think binary thinking is helpful. I am a Christian, and I am a liberal. However, I vote for the conservative when I believed they are the better candidate. Let’s leave room for nuance. Issues are complicated. Let’s not go the easy route and “pick a side.” Love y’all.

Who is it that is sad? to say they are sad to believe what they believe? Is it sad to you because to them they’re not wasting their life and for who are you to dictate that? They are wasting their life ? who gave you that authority to decorate they are wasting their life? Sure, that is your opinion and what you think and the freedom to say that. No one is arguing that you can’t say what you want to say. But for you to believe that, they are sad for “wasting their time.” That takes some sort of belief on your part and believing comes from a faith. You cannot prove that they are wasting their life for their faith. If you believe nothing happens at the end of our life then nothing is at stake. But if they are right and there is Jesus, you have a lot at stake.
