I believe the framework theory but adamantly disagree with evolution as defined by Darwin. If evolution happens (and I don't think it does) it is so complicated it is certainly guided and would be even more evidence for a creator. All that to say, I'm tired of being lumped into those that don't believe in creation taking only six 24 hour periods merely to have a more palatable POV before godless "scientists." The accusation is defamatory against fellow brethren. Please give us the benefit of the doubt when we say we absolutely believe every word in the Scriptures, but interpretation isn't always black and white. I think the Bible Project is a fallible but excellent source for big-picture interpretation. The scripture, particularly the O.T. is so layered in its structure that comprehending it will require more than my time in this mortal life. Also, I believe that understanding the intention of the author of Genesis requires understanding pre-existing creation myths that would have been the structure that Genesis was contrasting. God isn't God if anything existed apart or prior to Him, so I do see cteation as a fundamental doctrine. But I'm with you guys that the means of ex-nihilo creation is of third tier importance.

I think that really science doesn't necessarily have to provide answers. It just has to observe 'what is'. I think it goes wrong when certain kinds of scientists go too far and claim conclusively there is no God. At that point science has become an ideology like religion, which it is not meant to be. I also don't think there is anything wrong with blowing apart older explanations if they're not up to standard or fall short of reality. Having an answer is not the important part (we may never have one), the important part is the truth. Sadly, a large proportion of people would prefer take refuge in the safety and familiarity of ideology (religious, political or anything else) than encounter the truth.
