Okay every time I try and throw in, it becomes an essay. So representation is not a problem, however there’s a level of politics beyond that where we ask, “are their times when exclusion is permitted” a lot of people will read that with horror and say ‘no!’, but what if I’m talking single sex spaces, like changing rooms, ‘oooooh’. But it’s a controversial topic and people disagree. I know for a fact those people exist in the hobby and that this is explicitly the reason they push for female space marines. Warhammer is for everyone, you can have male factions, female factions, mixed factions and factions that are neither… there is nothing wrong with any of those and I don’t want to see GW go down the road of implying that there is.

You talking sisters of battle or sisters of silence? they are two very different things. Sisters of battle or marines hard no they do not mix genders for two different reason. I always thought custodies had both genders even if they refer to them with male terminology. Could very easily be used in the same way we use man to refer to humanity. As far as sister of silence there are male blanks so I don’t see why they couldn’t have another detachment of all male one much like the guard doesn’t often have mixed regiments

Idk how to feel about it really. On one hand, I don’t really care that there are female custodies, like cool beans there are girl bananas in my super space fascist. But on the other hand, I still find it annoying when others in the community what to rub it in your face, “tHeRe ArE fEmAlE cUsToIeS nOw , gEt R3cKeD oLdHeAd ChUdS!” Like I get it if you like it and if you don’t, the point of communities is sharing each other’s opinions on the topic that we all love not one upping each other on what’s right and wrong. Especially in something like Warhammer, where the universe is so expansive and filled with countless stories and interpretations. Not to mention the several retcons made in the past that changed lots of things about Warhammer. All in all, I’m pretty conflicted. I feel like it’s just GW trying to do something “ controversial” to distract us from their poor business practices and straight up neglect to the fan base.

Given that the Custodes gene seed is from the emperor, it would make sense that only male Custodes can be created. As that genetic material could only be comparable with male physiology. To create female Custodes, you would need gene-seed material from a female perpetual, most likely canidate being Urda. Sadly their are no female perpetuals to gather gene-seed beyond the Horus Heresy. So while female Custodes maybe a thing in art or conversation, it's not a thing in lore, and not a part of the story.
