Thank you for highlighting the importance of understanding science from reputable sources and also knowing what you don't know. My background is in molecular biology (think yeast and fungi) but I am fascinated by hair - hence the KZbin channel. I am moving into the hair science/trichology/cosmetics space and now I know that this book will provide a comprehensive grounding in not only the science but also the field as a whole. Having all the information about the cosmetics landscape in a single place will prove immeasurably useful as I make this transition. I ordered it yesterday! It's a shame that there won't be much on textured hair in this edition but I am pleased to have attended the multi-ethnic hair symposium a few months ago and to hear about all the developments in the textured hair space. I am looking forward to hearing what comes out of all the ongoing research at TRI. It seems researchers are realising how diverse textured hair is and I'm sure this will have huge implications for personalised products in years to come. The influence of the microbiome is also an intriguing and groundbreaking topic and I hope to see more on this interwoven into the textured hair space. I would love to learn more from the IFSCC and also potentially collaborate. Would you be interested?
