The book/stage even has them wearing green glasses to give an illusion of opulence but not actually opulent.

Yes Nick comes from a R&B boyband called 98degrees. He had a good voice actually and was one of the main singers, alongside his brother Drew. Then he got involved with Jessica Simpson (also a singer), who he has a child with and they even had a realityshow on MTV. But their relationship was messy, and did not last long. I did not follow his life ater that, but yeah now married to Vanessa and their relationship is good. Anyway the actual premise of the show is to help yourself and partner realize what is missing in your relationship in order to get married. But the reality for many is: If i can find what i want in someone else now, why should i stay with the person im with now? Many end up struggling with that, so yeah its a toxic show.
