Very interesting but what a waste of rope. The water is so shallow that you don’t need 50 miles of rope! 10 feet per pot seems ample! But I am an Aussie and we don’t catch lobsters or crays like yours.

Didn't realise Guernsey wasn't covered by the ban on landing female lobsters or not having to V notch their tails on release.🤔🤔🤔 ( Watching from just across the water on the Cotentin peninsula).

gday capt balliwick 26 degrees thats a nice day here try 46 or our temp on tuesday 36 with possible rising to 40 later in the week , its your winters that would kill me ive been to england once in the winter at xmas time enough for me . A good choice of reel all my reels are penn live liners and and normal 560 's and a small 2500 good haul for a mornings fish what do those macks taste like any good ? last trip was a bit sad 7 crabs 2 garfish and 3 squid for a day ,i have a total of 8 hours on my engine now whoooo only another 12 and i can do the first service fuel economy is excellent on the 4 stroke 40hp yamaha and the 15 foot tub hops along too , mate dont take this the wrong way but put a life jacket on at least whilst your underway it may save your life if something goes wrong anyway take care see you when your crabbing /lobstering cheers .

All the skippers i sailed with would have given you an ear bashing for sorting fish with one hand 😆 you should try it up here off Shetland with 3 crew sometimes getting 20=50baskets of cod , haddock, whiting, skate, prawns, ling, coalfish etc for 4hr tows sometimes you hadnt even cleared the deck and the next shot was coming aboard non stop 24hrs a day for 12 days straight then you got sat sun home! It was hard work but good £ and the only job i truly loved as everytime you lifted the net you were excited!!
