Conditions can be very bad in America too. I worked in a clothing store and we would have to buy things to meet sales goals only to see higher goals set. Capitalism is evil. Maybe it was the U.S. that enslaved Japan under its constitution written by the military.

Firstly, congratulations that you have got a new job / career and left the job that you probably dreaded for the many years! No regrets on any decision made as you are not the ordinary Japanese salaryman whom believes there are no alternatives in life. You are well traveled with international exposures, thus it is right to follow your heart. I have Japanese friends whom are healthy & still working into their 70s. Thus, many years for your contribution! Ganbatte yo! Also do not feel too despair as Japan is in it’s natural cycle for economic prosperity & decline, just look at worst situation in US, UK, EU & even in Malaysia. Must admit that the world is currently going through much turmoil of which we can’t do anything. Most importantly is the well being of our family & be-able to live a descent happy life (anyone is rich is their own ways). Also don’t forget that you are not alone & many people like us are experiencing the same feelings through the journey of life. You have lots of tomodachi waiting for your KZbin broadcast and checking onto your well being! Isn’t this is amazing part of human even though most of these people are from different countries & background? Yeah, Hakkoido is such a beautiful, natural & peaceful place to stay. Thus, don’t rule out the possibility of moving back there for your retirement. Otsukarasama desu for such a lengthy & meaningful KZbin posting! Arigato gozaimasu.

Welcome back Kecos san. It's been a while. Congrats on your new job and new life in Ebina. It must have been a lot to take in but all of them are going to add interesting chapters in yours and your family's life. Even in your 50s nothing is ever dull with a little bit of change. I also think moving closer to Tokyo is better for your son's future since there will be a lot of options for him when he choose to continue his studies or doing other things he wished. Plus health care are better in the cities than rural areas. Even with all the pros cities can provide I still like Hokkaido because it has similar vibe to my hometown (well not exactly but you get what I mean) like Sabah is to Peninsular Malaysia. Btw I'm curious does the seafood in Ebina as good as it was in Hokkaido?

Thank you for your very kind message. I don't know if I will be able to continue working with my young and talented colleagues, but I will just have to do my best. Food is cheaper and tastier in Hokkaido. Yes, my heart may still be in Hokkaido for the time being. I lived in the Tokyo area only during my university years. But after 30 years, I started living here again and was surprised to find that the summers are horribly hot.

Welcome back Kecos san, so great to hear and see from you again. Thank you for your wonderful video and sharing the news in your life. On one hand it's a pitty that you had to leave beautiful Hokkaido, on the other hand I can understand your feelings well. It is similar in Germany, we are ruled by some green zealots which have no common sense at all and drag this nations industry and commerce down. Furthermore our government is following not our nations interests, but tries everything to please the US. And our public media is a complete failure, which doesn't do their job, but rather backs them and continues to spread propaganda. Not a nice time to live here at the moment. But wherever there are bad sides, there are also silver lines of hope. People are not believing into mass media anymore, especially younger people inform themselves independently by multiple sources from the internet. And the public opinion of this goverment is as low as it can get, which is a phenomenon that can be seen in several european countries. People don't want to be told how to live their lifes, they want a freedom of choice. Talking about it, if you haven't felt happy back with your job in Hokkaido, you did the right choice yourself. We never know what the future will bring, but we can only influence our future if we are willing to take choices. :) Oh and by the way, I also made the right choice by importing an japanese market vehicle to Germany. I got me a Honda Freed Hybrid (first generation) and wow, do I love this car by now. Besides being my favorite ride, it's also one authentic part of Japan that I can enjoy every day being over 9000km away from the original^^ Wishing you and your family all the best, keep healthy and a good start in Ebina ^_^/

Dear my first subscriber, you are always the VIP of this channel. I am glad to hear that your Japanese car import business is doing well. I am very happy to hear that the declining Japan has finally been overtaken in GDP by Germany with 2/3 of the population. So I am sure that Japan's economic downturn is more serious than yours. I don't get my information from general TV now either, even KZbin has some fakes, but still, I don't think the propaganda is too bad. If I continue with this channel, in the future it will be a little less about Hokkaido and more about Tokyo and Kanagawa from the point of view of a Hokkaido person. If you would like to take a look again, I would be happy to do so.

Dear Kecos, You are very welcome. Just to prevent a misunderstanding, I don't do Japanese cars as business, but as hobby. And now I'm so glad I can finally drive my dream car ^^ As for Japan, I can understand on how you feel right now. I hope that there will be a change of mind and that younger generations might take the lead into a more family friendly environment. It seems a giant task and only a far dream, but in the past Japan and it's population surprised the world several times. For example when the nation went from medieval into industrial age within a generation after Meiji restoration, or when large earthquakes struck vital areas in Kobe or Tokai - each time Japan returned stronger and reawakened like cherry blossom trees after winter. I'll be definitely looking forward to see more of your videos. I haven't seen much of Kanagawa prefecture myself. Mostly I've been to Yokohama. But just as I've learned from your channel and from fellow Japanese camping tubers, it's the people and the nature that we regularly don't see, which have so much to offer 😊 Thank you very much in advance for all your work.

@MardhiahJames
@MardhiahJames 2 жыл бұрын
I think Malaysians said our food is more unhealthy because we have a lot more overweight/obese people as compared to Japanese who generally more lean. So we blame the food, well it's one factor contributing but it's also combination of more things. The food and drinks are more sugary and sweet, we also have too many variety of food/snacks (it's because we are a diverse country with a lot of races and ethnicity) which make us always craving to snack on something all the time. Our portion is also quite big as compared to Japan, while the price is not too expensive so people don't feel guilty buying a lot more food. And personally I feel like people don't eat enough vege and fruits, there's just too much refined sugar, carbs and fat. The lifestyle is also contributing, in Malaysia you rarely see people walking long distance like 1km 2km 3km (except when they are really exercising), we prefer taking our own car/motorcycle even if the place is near. That is because Malaysia weather is unpredictable sometimes too hot, sometimes raining, so people don't like the hassle and become very sedentary as compared to Japan, Japanese walk everywhere all the time, small children or old folks will all walk, we don't see that normally in Malaysia.

Hi, Mardhiah-san. Thank you very much for your Thank you very much for your insightful comment. In my view, Japanese are likely to enjoy jogging rather than gaining muscle in terms of exercise. It might give us on impact in physique. Surely, I saw some Malaysians with obesity. But no worries. In the past, I stayed in Canada, I saw a lot lot more there, XD. One of the triggers for obesity in Malaysia is that Malaysian food is too yummy, isn't it? Due to hot and humid weather, it is even dangerous to jog in Malaysia. Instead, many condos in Malaysia have wonderful swimming pool and treadmill. It's really awesome!

Do autumn usually start around October? It feel like the seasons been push further back compared when I was small back in the 1980's. Back then, we were taught that the 4 seasons up north are Spring start in March, Summer in June, Autumn in September, and Winter in December. And regarding Malaysian food, I do agree that some of our food are indeed unhealthy. And I'm not taking about those instant food or processed food. I meant the traditional foods. One of the many reasons is that they use coconut milk, which we called Santan, in the cooking. That's why some dishes like curry or rendang look so oily because the coconut milk contain oil. Coconut oil to be precise.

Nuclear Weapons were in developement during the end of WW2 by multiple nations, it were however the US who first used them in combat. Their destructive power as well as the terror they represented also lead scientists to give the technology to other nations as well, as they feared if only one nation has these weapons, they would dominate all others and use them without much concerns. That being said, have you checked how much the US is spending on weapons and arms development? I think it's more than Russia and China together, plus the US government asked european nations to up their military spendings as well, long before the current situation in Ukraine.
@LostinHokkaido
@LostinHokkaido 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Kamuichan. Surely, the appearance of nuclear weapon has transformed the definition of war itself. And it made us more difficult regarding how each country should play a role keep the world peace. Japan doen't have the nuclear one, but we can't simply criticize the US policy because we are under the umbllera of nuclear by the US, and it surely keeps us from the threat by N.Korea, China, and Russia.

@@LostinHokkaido Hi Kecos. Japan and Germany are in a similar situation. Official it's stated, that the US as our partner would defend us against other nations. However, I disagreee with official political terms and rather see the US presence as an act of occupation. This is because of two things. 1.) On an international scale, and with all the experience gained within the last 70 years, established nations will profit more from trading with each other, than fighting each other. For example China has invested a lot of money into Taiwan, and vice versa. While politicians like to talk big, the business sector has no interest at all into an military conflict, as both China and Taiwan would destroy their own investments and customer base. It's similar between Germany and Russia. Germany used to buy affordable energy from Russia, whereas Russia bought machinery and Infrastructure from Germany. I guess it might be similar between Japan and China, where China is an important provider of resources as well as a giant sales market, whereas Japan offers technical know how & machinery to China. The only one who would have an interest in military conflicts between nations, are not the nations involved^^ 2.) The amount of protection that the US provide can but put into question, with most recent events. The most popular example is Afghanistan where US forces made an hasty retreat. We also have to think, why would the US risk losing lives, when it's not their own country that they defend? Because of this, i think it would be in the best interest of nations, to have every country care for it's own defense and to respect other nations on a mutual eye to eye level. By that, we can't be dragged into conflicts that we don't want (currently happening in Europe) and political leaders would have to make use of common sense and diplomacy instread of weapons :)

Developing nuclear weapons is like an invitation to make more enemy. It's better to have more friends than enemies. Plus Malaysia is such a small country with small population compared to its neighbor id, losing a densely populated area and the people due to nuclear war will be devastating not to mention the harm it could cause to the environment (acid rains and radiations are no joke). I don't wanna see/read another nuclear war like Hirosh*ma and Nagasak* just reading it makes my skin crawl in fear of the aftermath. I supposed when you take GDP, it's PPP. At the moment, Japanese GDP is 6x larger than Malaysia but, Japan population is 4x larger than Malaysia. From GDP per capita basis, Japan is only 3x larger than Malaysia. So, yes, I think at this rate, it's almost 100% that the gap between Japan and Malaysia will narrow but I don't think Malaysia will overtake in the next 30 years at least. In simple math, assume Malaysia grows 5% p.a, their GDP PPP will be $2tn by 2035. For Japan, assume 1% growth p.a. since Japan also have a population decrease problem, by 2035, it will be max $8tn, down to 4x.
