Correction: As any northern New Yorker will tell you, the dogs come from Hofmann's Sausage company and while they are great at Heid's, you can buy them at any supermarket in the north country. Most of us NYers grew up on them.

A hotdog with egg whites? I study pastry and culinary arts, egg whites have been used for sponge cakes, as well as Merengues and Macaroons. I never thought of a hotdog recipe that included such ingredient.

Not saying anything bad about the place, but it's hot dogs. With a little effort and buying dogs from a butcher, you can make 5 times as many hot dogs on your grill for the price of one at any hot dog stand. And they're just as good.

No special recipe. These are Hofmann's German franks. One recipe although they come in different sizes. Claiming a special recipe is the biggest lie in the hot dog business. It is done, but not nearly as much as it's claimed.

Cute, but did anyone ever tell this guy how to pronounce Onondaga? (he pronounced it as if it's spelled "Ownondaga", tsk, tsk. In fact it's a short "o" as in "online". Note to the filmmaker...when in a town you don't know you should check with the locals about pronunciations!)
