Went off your supervisor? Welcome to the club. Not to be bragging, but I did great work for my agency but went off on my supervisors & guess what? I had a low promotion score. I saw complete slugs being promoted not to just first line supervisor, but even higher than that. Sad but true, but we're dealing with the government here.

I also hate drugs. I've spent almost the past 35 years (ski bum then rural Alaska) surrounded by druggies. Recreational drug use is a myth. 99.999% of the people who smoke are addicts, their lives revolve around and are subordinate to their addiction. Pot got decriminalized here in Alaska. What happened immediately? Use of all the other drugs went through the roof and crime just skyrocketed. My Libertarian side says anyone should be allowed to do to and put whatever in their bodies that they want as long as it doesn't affect anyone else but that never happens, the consequences and effects of drug use always end up being borne by everyone else. I strongly support sequestered drug use zones. I'd like to see large areas set aside for "anything goes." Wall them off, you have to go through customs to get out of them but inside these areas, you can do ANYTHING you want. Drugs, murder, rape, all of it, the laws and LEO's have no jurisdiction in here. So if you go into this area, you're allowed to do anything, to anyone but it can also be done to you. You knew what you were getting into, you chose it, good luck. I wouldn't put criminals in jail or prison, I'd put them in this total freedom zone. Who are we to trample on another's freedom to do whatever they want? You can do drugs, rape, murder all you want, you just can't do it in this area over here where the people don't want that, you have to do it in the Freedom Zone.

I bet only cops will see the twisted humor in that. Reminds me of the “story” of the cop who was enjoying his 10-3 (aka girlfriend while married) on duty, had a heart attack and died. The 10-3 called his beat partners who arrived, dressed him, put him in his car, took him to a different location and then “found” him dead. Died on duty…..

@code6charles966 If you watched the long form interview the overall point was how idiotic the California law makers are. Here is another example from the interview. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4qthYSNntOel80 To your other point I think there would be some WSP Troopers that might feel differently. In addition, here is an article from the National Library of Medicine showing the increase of crashes and fatal crashes. I think a lot has changed in THC potency from the 60's of 1-3%, to higher strains of marijuana, edibles, oils and dabs of today with THC ranging from 15-90% (THC concentrates). pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35838426/

@@reasonsweserve marijuana is on its way to full legalization. The ambiguity in the law is done on purpose because full legalization is obviously not yet possible. The police officer is coming from a background where marijuana has been illegal for decades so it is very simple to show the negative aspects. A police officer can also get completely drunk on Sunday and show up hung over on Monday and crash and kills someone. I don’t see the point he’s trying to make. I understand the law is ambiguous for construction workers and cops but what is he trying to say? Is he better than a construction worker so is why he is saying cops were not included. He feels a complex towards them obviously. He is simply trying to conclude that because the law is flawed marijuana should be flawed as well, which is incorrect.
@reasonsweserve
@reasonsweserve 22 күн бұрын
@emmantoast310 What the Chief of Police of Upland is saying is that because police officers have to go through a federal background check the law makes no sense as written. In the federal system which supersedes state law marijuana is still illegal, and has been illegal which in theory makes it impossible to pass a background check depending upon the departments rules. He is calling out the absurdity of California law makers for not specifically saying that marijuana use should be illegal for police officers. He then gives the example of the pursuit and car crash which then opens the State of California and the municipality to multi million dollar lawsuits. He mentioned construction workers only because the legislatures specifically put into law that construction workers could not use marijuana. The thought may be that construction workers are operating heavy machinery? His point was that if the legislature is going to specifically mention construction workers they should have the good sense to include police officers.
@emmantoast310
@emmantoast310 22 күн бұрын
@@reasonsweserve he’s basically mad because they were allowed to smoke pot and construction workers were not. He sees himself above them. His argument should be full legalization then. Marijuana for construction workers and everybody. He uses that argument of a flawed law to show that the whole thing is flawed, which is not the case. That crashing argument was very weak in my opinion.
@reasonsweserve
@reasonsweserve 22 күн бұрын
@emmantoast310 I think you missed the point. If you watch the full interview you may have a different perspective. It had nothing to do with him thinking he was above the construction workers. A lot of the interview was about how stupid California lawmakers are. Here's another perfect example of something he spoke about that is idiotic. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4qthYSNntOel80

@reasonsweserve
@reasonsweserve 22 күн бұрын
@30OIvanova You are trolling, right? Let me simplify this video for you. The people being hired as LAPD officers are not citizens. If you want non-citizens to be able to tell US citizens what they can and can not do, take rights and liberties away from US citizens, and be able to use deadly force and carry weapons against US citizens good for you move to LA. Not to mention how these people are going to pass a background check. Lastly, most if not all these people broke the law getting into the United States. If you break federal law to get here you don't get to be a police officer. Lastly, I'm not the media I'm a guy who interviews law enforcement people and tries to figure out why they do it and if it affects them. If you want to learn about that and issues like the one discussed in this video then watch a few long-form interviews and get back to me. If not find another channel that fits your narrative. thefederalist.com/2024/02/29/los-angeles-hires-and-arms-foreign-criminals-to-police-u-s-citizens/
