Great tutorial! I tried to make one with 2mm rope. Big mistake….too small to hold a phone
@yodielandyoga3 күн бұрын
I was able to complete it with 2mm cord by adding 4 additional cords to the front (where it folds together) making it large enough to fit a phone 0:05

I have reached to last two petals and have run out of cord….my cord is 4 mm twisted cord so I will need to either add in some cords or undo! I normally add 50 cm to each length…but didn’t this time.

This is a beautiful pattern, thank you for teaching us . I have a question? For the 4 extra cords attached I find 15 cms too short. Could you please share the measurements
@GreysMade26 күн бұрын
Thank you ♥️ As shown in the video, these extra short cords are not particularly involved in the knotting process. I add them to the sides to form the heart shape. You can see the measurements at 00:12

Beautiful! Options for bottom of bag. Option 1: Turn bag inside out. Place the cords that are not going to be tied on the inside of the bag and square tying the others on the inside. Turn the bag again to do the square tying on the remaining cords. This will give the bottom a little more reenforcement on the bottom making sure that the bottom doesn't drop out. Option 2: You could do the half knot hitch with the end cords being the core for them. You can make a U patterns. Start both of the U pattern on the inside working out on both U's. the begin working the insides so the U's inside fit inside each other facing each other when they are finished, so one half is inside the other. This would allow the edge of the bag creating a base with then decorating the bottom with the fringe. You could also feed the remaining cords inside of the bag, turn it inside out and feed the lengths (2") along the sides to hide the cords if you don't want the fringe. this will also allow you the option to add the fringe later if you change your mind. Option for a flap: Add the flap creating the pyramid with the cords. To start you can take 4 cords and make a loop with 3 cords as core use the remaining cord to wrap the 3 cords then make a loop. Make the loop a little larger the bead it will loop over. and using a smaller length of cord to wrap the end of the loop together then continue to make the bag. After you reach the length for the flap you can start the rest of the bag making sure to keep the inverted pyramid at the front for easy grasping the phone. After you finish the bag you can add a tassel to cover the loop securing it with a plafond knot or a Chinese flat round knot. Tassel: You want the bead for the tassel to set over the plafond knot/Chinese flat round knot that is on the bag to secure the flap. First take the loop on the flap and whip the loop to fit the plafond knot allowing for easy on and off but keeping the flap secured (wrapping options you can do the same wrap used on the loop or you can do the zipper wrap, or use two color threads or smaller cord to a single strand ringbolt hitch for example if you don't want to do the tassel). Using the cord to cover the bead fold in half then take a small string to tie in the center. Brush out and set aside repeating with the next cord. Now take the bead and using a piece of cord threading the ends of the cord through the bead making sure to leave a loop at the bottom of the bead. Now place one of the brushed out cords ends and thread it through the loop centering it and pull the loop closed. Take the next brushed out cord and place on top of the bead between the cord ends. Now cross half twist the cord then place the final brushed out cord on top of the bead. Laying the bead upside down make two to four snake knots making the first snug against the bead. Turn the bead around and smooth the brushed out cords down over the bead making sure to cover the bead. Then you will wrap everything together under the bead creating your tassel. Thread the ends through the flap at the tip tying it at the backside and feeding the ends to the edge and melting the ends to secure the tassel. Just some ideas I came up with to add to or do differently from what is shown on the video. The bag on the video is great on its own or you can and to it and make it your own.

Love all of your videos. Just made along with you but obviously did something wrong because my last triangle was exactly like the others (instead of shorter) and because of this (?) my last triangle overlaps the first. Going to undo it and try again. If anyone else had this happen to them and you know what you did wrong, please let me know! Thanks again!
@GreysMadeАй бұрын
@@jessicacastille5401 Hi, thank you for your feedback ♥️. Try using 4 cords next time to make it easier to experiment and to understand what the issue might be. You mentioned that your last triangle overlaps the first one-did your coaster turn out more square-shaped or pentagon-shaped? In my tutorial, my last triangle is slightly smaller than the others, I made fewer rows. I initially stretch the corners into a pentagon shape, forming sharp angles, and I knot tightly. The coaster might come out square-shaped, which also has its own charm✨
