"Sadly Jimmy Lomax never got the breaks despite having a very fine voice complete with some lovely Sam Cooke style inflections and a tone that puts me in mind of the great Bobby Harris. His version of the country classic ListenHe’ll Have To Go is about as intense as you can get - note also the wonderful playing of the Big Apple session guys. But his other great deep effort, the self-penned ListenRemember Me is even more concentrated and powerful. No horns on this one just a stripped down rhythm section but that puts even more emphasis on Jimmy’s heartfelt vocal. You got to love the rumbling bass guitar fills and the tasteful guitar/organ combination too." from the sirshambling web site

The oldies make me feel sentimental. I cry now .. at seventy ..... most friends are gone. The parents, and many family members. ❤

I was 15 years old when I started collecting records. I bought "Good Thing Man" and raced to the record store when "Good Thing Queen" came out to get it. I really couldn't play one without the other. I still have the 45's, albums, and my old-school stereo system with the separate componets from back in the day.

Growing up in Cincinnati, Troy Seals was an amazing performer. This is the first time hearing this. I knew Terry Burnside--his brother Dennis was a very good friend-- and Ray Pennington! Ray Starr and the Starlighters was his other outlet for that great music. Man! This is my roots. Thanks for posting this!
