Great video and something that is on my bucket list. Just wondering if you steer with the tiller or with the outboard when motoring? I have just bought a Cole 23 which has the outboard too far away from the transom (when prop in the water) to be able to steer with it effectively. I am a little concerned about low speed manoeuvring using just the rudder (with outboard locked in the centre position and no prop wash over the rudder).

Hi There where ever poss the rudder is the ideal for me, but definitely in tighter environments like marina's etc there is a need to steer with the outboard too.

Best Marlay Video I have seen and great overview to the actual race, I did my first Marlay this year with a big tick off the bucket list...... and it lived upto expectations, loved it.
