It's sad that the subsequent games of the series failed to capture the magic of the original title. But that doesn't need to be the case. The magic is simple: Make us witness the death of the recruitables. You witness a tragedy, live, until its bitter conclusion, and BAM! you've bonded with the character forever. This series will never be relevant again unless they do that.

This games needs a remake and also a rework on angel slayer that weapon sucks alot even though it is the most powerful sword in this game.

little late to the party but: you dont need to buy the survival knife cause you get one for free in the next dungeon :D and for the absorbing-seru-part: i read that it has an increased chance if the final hit is done with the Ra-Seru hand (either left or right, depending on who it is cause Noa is left-handed while Vahn and Gala are right-handed)

If you're new to the game, there are pros and cons. But overall, i enjoy that franchise, and there is a manga. Ps2 version and nintendo ds are also decent to play, but there are other games with relations to either some of the characters or mobile games other than the ps1 port with enough research on the web and youtube you'll quickly find out everything you need to know a few web forums reddit and gamefaqs including.

I wish the true ending and some aspects of the game wouldnt be so cryptic or weird, like those extra skills characters could level like swimming or cooking.. like I dont play Star Ocean Wolf Team, I play a new game that shouldnt have all these extra mechanics with them and you just made it harder for me to pick characters I need to send to Odin and have their stats rearranged for it without properly telling me what this is for :/
