Epic! That sound that trails off at the end.....sounds like the beginning of Michael Jackson's Beat It. Anyway, love the throw backs to those synth sounds. Good job Lorne.

The entire soundtrack is amazing, including the movie, but this track is a true wonder for me. Apart from minute 2:01 there are others such as 1:17 and 2:42, which are changes so subtle but so effective that they achieve a brutal effect.
@johnsalvucci79222 ай бұрын
Having listened to the full score a few times since it was released I really can't find anything remarkable about it save for how strongly it refuses to be memorable. So many strong motifs are introduced in the track "Refinery"... at the end of the film. "Kate's Theme" and "Nature's Masterpiece" only barely elevate the scenes they're included in and don't leave any impression after the fact.

It’s highly likely that Wallfisch was contractually unable to use Mancina’s music; that’s how it often works in the industry. Quit being a whiny pants and appreciate that we still have big orchestral scoring in Hollywood blockbusters.

i loved the score. I loved the piano but also the country themes. this is a standalone sequel, no one from the original 1996 film appeared in this film so that’s most likely why wallfisch didn’t use those themes. when wallfisch composed for the flash, he used danny elfman’s batman theme because Michael Keaton reprised his role as Batman.
@AlexaSmith2 ай бұрын
cannot believe how boring and uncharming this is. Does everything have to sound like a marvel movie knock off now? Mark Mancina’s score for the original actually had some perspective, some flavor, some fun some emotion other than “whoa big action time”

Even thought this score isn't as good as Mancina, the country songs fills that role.

Can anyone tell me the names of the songs in the movie?
@tomson86782 ай бұрын
IMHO: Mancina's soundtrack is excellent even for listening without watching the film (and it works perfectly in the movie). Based on the example above, it seems that in Twisters, it’s just dynamic noise, as if there was a concept for a style but a total lack of skill in executing it, resulting in a forgettable collection of random sounds, like many simple songs from royalty-free music banks. The soundtrack for Twisters currently seems to be at best a curiosity that you can listen to once and forget. All of Mancina's tracks from Twister, with their many recognizable themes, can be listened to thousands of times and still make a great impression. And of course, nothing can replace Humans Being and Respect the Wind by Van Halen. But once again: IMHO

It’s not terrible…..but, you can’t hum the theme either. Mancina’s score had one track after another that you could hum. Good movie, but major missed opportunity on the music. You can hear the Mancina inspired instrumentals here, buts it’s not really a “theme.”
@lbmakescontent2 ай бұрын
Me personally, as a fan of Mancina’s first score, I’m glad that nothing from his score was quoted / brought back. While yeah, there are similar plot beats, this movie has barely any correlation to the 96 film other than some slight references and the title being the same (except for the extra “s”). It would’ve been distracting to hear music be reused every single time.
@Lucasfan3752 ай бұрын
They really should have asked Mark Mancina to come back. He was more than willing to do it. Such a missed opportunity. They didn't even use his themes.
@garbanzolee33062 ай бұрын
: ( That was my genuine main reason to watch the film.
@Alex-xg8py2 ай бұрын
Completely agree. BUT the only reason I can think is it’s a standalone experience and a new composer is needed. That or they hired Benjamin because of it being the cheaper option.
@Lucasfan3752 ай бұрын
@@Alex-xg8py Still, his music isn't memorable to stand on its own. It feels generic by comparison. There's no eerieness or creepy moments to balance out the exciting and fun moments. But that's just me. We do get a small hint and nod to Mark Mancina's music at the universal logo, but that's really it.

I agree. I was so disappointed too & it was one of the many reasons why I took points off my rating on the overall film. I saw it twice & still didn't notice any main musical Melodies or Themes.
