There is another version with boys singing which is what we sing along to every morning. They only know the first line of thr Shema (i never learned the whole thing myself) but they can sing the entire Modeh Ani

I am Muslim. I've been listening to this song for a year and a half. Thanks to this song, I've been postponing dying for a year and a half. I now have a hard time thanking for this life given to me, despite the people who threw me into the abyss in return for my effort to survive. Why is your real purpose to die? Every day God gives us life, there is a reason! I am a 60 year old Christian woman who recently discovered to pray the Modeh Ani when I wake in the morning. I am scared of dying, yet the Modeh Ani helps me celebrate God giving me life for another day, to celebrate that God still has his purpose for me in mind and that I must live, no matter how bad I feel some days, so that I can fulfill the reason I am here on this earth. I truly believe that my purpose is to save a life, so that when I breathe my last, my life would be truly complete. So stick around, and look for a reason to live, not die, and grasp that and hold onto that. Don't forget to do for others, for that will give you a reason to live too. And Gods love will keep you going.

Thanks for making this. Hugging and wrestling with Israel is pretty much how it feels these days. Made aliyah from the US in 2018 to do the army, wanted to feel like part of Israeli society. I deplore what's happening in Gaza right now but I've been here for 6 years. I've loved Hadag Nahash since 2015 but only now have I sat and looked through the lyrics properly. This video really helped with the more figurative meanings of the lyrics, thanks again.
