The sleeper coaches have a different electrical system to the HST coaches. Why, I have no idea.
@Ashworth-Media3 жыл бұрын
@@K-o-R The HST's use a 30 pin connector plug, the old push-pull electric sets on the ECML and WCML used a different one, and the sleepers use yet another different one. as they all do the same basic thing, why can't they come up with an adaptor. A HST sleeper would only require the correct cable to be installed under each coach, it is not that hard a job to do, plus the HST have a good route availability for the routes and divisionary routes.

Tilting doesn't make the train go any faster. It's just used to make the passenger feel more comfortable when cornering but that doesn't work. Trains in the UK is too slow.
@branxo36093 жыл бұрын
I mean the tilting is there so it can take corners faster but ok
@its.jsgino3 жыл бұрын

Actually the tilt does allow the trains to run at slightly higher speeds compared to other rolling stock. Non-tilting trains on the West Coast Main Line can only run at a maximum 110mph because of the curvy nature of the route. Pendolinos and tilt-enabled Voyagers are permitted to run at 125mph... 15mph faster than any non-tilting trains on the WCML. LNWR 350's (for example) are only allowed to run at 110mph because they don't have the tilt system, and therefore can't take curves as fast as Pendolino's can. The WCML features many dual-speed signs. Speed signs applying to tilting trains are marked with the letters EPS (Enhanced Permissible Speed). In other words, the exact same piece of railway has two different speed limits... one for tilting trains, and the other for non-tilting trains. The tilt also helps to counter-act the centrifugal forces when taking corners at high speed, so that passengers aren't thrown to one side... which does work. I myself have been on the Pendolino's loads of times and the ride quality is superb. Not once did I get thrown sideways by any uncomfortable centrifugal forces. And I do suffer from travel sickness rather easily, but I was absolutely fine on the Pendolino. A 5 hour journey from London to Glasgow and I was rather sad that the journey was over.

Great video.☺️ I just subscribed to ur KZbin channel.☺️ They can’t do this anymore with the Sleeper trains since GWR don’t have the HST’s anymore. If the Locomotives on the Sleeper trains were to breakdown nowadays, they’ll have to get another Locomotive from a different company to come and drag it which I’m guessing will cost a lot more money.

Yeah but those wouldn’t come through to the Thames Valley to rescue this would they. TBH it’s about time the Night Riviera gets newer stock anyway, they can keep the Mk3s but get some 68s perhaps? Or anything more modern, not 88s though, those can use wires but are weak on diesel.
