Something Rare

Unfortunatly the Albury to Melbourne line has suffered alot over the years, the line is permitted to 110KM/H for Freight, passenger i think is 120KM/H, this train can go 160KM/H which is what it's rated to do, but only certain places actually see 160km/H running, the Albury line is not one of these.

Seats, not very comfy compared to an N set No adjustable seating at all Buffet car as far as I'm aware is not in operation VS93 is squeaky, rattly and seems rushed compared to VS94 They should've kept the N class on

Some N sets are now Permanently with a Power van, but yes, the N classes still use their head end power

@@tomr1102 Correct, but in the hotter Weather, the N sets don't like being turned off and turned back on again with the aircon switched in. It faults the Aircon, hence you'll see some N Sets now fitted with a Power Van.

@@tomr1102 Some N Set Gensets don't fire up automatically. This I do not know why it is, all I know is, Aircons have faulted when the N class detaches, runs around and Detaches.

I don't remember what caused it, but VS93 has shocking rattles all over the place.

Yeah I noticed that a fair bit

This means that V Locity sets can run the service. Because NSW run standard and Vic runs broad the North East line has a standard guage track to connect sydney and melbourne. Vlocitys were built for Victorias broad guage therefore only N class could go to Albury. these new trains are converted to provide essentially a faster service

Basically the gauge is the distance between the running rails. In Qld , the narrow gauge is 1067mm/3ft6inch, new and most of the world is 1435mm/4ft 81/2 in and Victoria runs on 1600 mm or 5ft 3 in, , so we have narrow, standard and broad gauges. The standard gauge ,can obtain high speed, 300 kph, narrow gauge max speed is 160kph axle weight can be affected by the gauge. Each Australia n state has its own gauge. This known as the break of gauge.

I haven't been in first class on the Albury, but I can say the the VLO rides like a dream compared to the N set, but 80s suspension to modern day suspension says alot

As far as I know. PN don't want to spend the money on Graffiti removal, as the yards they stable at have little to no security. If you look it at one angle, yes they're disgraceful, but on another angle, why remove Graffiti just for it to come back on overnight

@@dannygayler90 I don't know much about UPs yards etc, but if I'm correct, most of their yards have really good security, fences checked daily. Like I said I don't know
