That's it... I've heard enough... I'm subscribeing I have only heard two of the songs that he's done by Michael Jackson and that's enough for me this man is a genius and I look forward to hearing everything from him

Love the remake mate. That was a stroke of genius! I would love to see you remake Ralph Tresvant's Sensitivity, When I Need Somebody, Do What I Gotta Do or Alright Now. The latter song being composed by Michael Jackson.

Stop the cap...you ain't never used no Mac. Everything you described is a Window's problem. They are not made from the same stuff, so they don't have the same problems. And for those who claim OS compatibility issues. I upgrade every year; I own and use 8 Daws and haver over a thousand plugins...no issue. BTW I own PC's too, not bias just honest.

I don't care about the Linn sounds but i want a sampling drum machine without the terrible workflow and one line display of the TR8s. Essential release.

I think that’s good they make something more affordable for ppl to be able to create with that helps one to feel the nostalgia of what others used before. If you can make the vibes you want I say go for it!

Another spin on your war analogy would be that Behringer is selling you an experience. Everyone already has the sounds but now you get to have the instrument in front of you. (Sort of.) They’re selling you the experience because there’s a market out there with customers who believe it’s worth the money even if they have the sounds on their hard drive. Lots of people actually buy things for how it looks in the studio. (Crazy as that sounds.) As far as Roger Linn, he doesn’t really like reiterations of things that he feels are already complete. He didn’t even want the MPC 60 II but eventually gave in. Great video and perspective. It’s a debate where I can see both sides of it.

Roger Linn is a nice guy who has literary help create and evolve whole genres of music. His contribution to music in general is invaluable. But he said his piece. He didn’t say yes to Behringer. He didn’t say no to Behringer. Behringer at least reached out to Linn. So all the Behringer haters should get to say their piece, but I chose to neither hate or love a company. I just chose to either use their products or not to. There are no angels or saints when it comes to a company’s bottom line.

I think it's cool. Lots of younger producers would never have encountered an original Linn drum machine so for them it's pretty exciting to get a clone of a classic machine. I also agree that it's just fun. I don't like producing music using software, having the machine in front of me is so much more fun and engaging.
@waterthroughyouropenhands5 күн бұрын
Most musicians will never be able to afford these types of vintage devices. People use the shapes of guitars for their own purposes. People use the circuits of guitar pedals and make clones. None of this matters. Linn is a genius and I respect him but he is doing fine financially. He is not destitute. At the end of the day, more musicians will make more music and that is all I care about

I don't understand why companies like Moog and Sequential keep copying Behringer designs... I mean Roger Linn should come up with something original the Linn drum looks exactly like an LM Drum!
@Lofilegacybeats5 күн бұрын
There just mad they did not reissue it. I’m with behringer they also are mad because they are making companies like Roland Yamaha korg that hey you can make good instruments for cheap.

Yes, lots of people are upset that Behringer is stealing, sorry, the Linn drum is 40 years old and Roger doesn't want to build a successor or replica, well then Behringer will do it and I'm grateful for that (there are plug-ins and Linn drum samples on the internet anyway, so why shouldn't Behringer build new hardware? I would have liked the individual outputs to be smaller and to have an SD card slot and a bit more memory, but OK, I'm happy that they're available again at all. Big thanks to Ulli Behringer & Team
@matthewgaines105 күн бұрын
I'm with Roger on this. The samples from the original Linn drums are on the internet and can be loaded into a MPC, Maschine, SP404, or some other modern machine and there you are. Sure, they added functionality over the original but most people who idolize the original can have those sounds on what they already have. I say it's their money and if it brings you joy, go for it. I'm not above that. I have a Kurzweil PC4-7 and Volca FM2. Both can load DX7 patches. At the same time they can make new, unique sounds too so it's not exactly the same. The PC4-7 has other sound engines too so you're not stuck with just the FM engine. The same could said of the Roland Integra 7 and D-05 in my possession. They have alot of reachback in that gear too. Nostalgia sells.

Nostalgia always sells. This is what Roger does not understand.
