THANK YOU. I now make completely unattached shelves, with variations using older small shelves as part of the method. Super simple, alterable. Only a hand saw is ever needed. Supports are 4 by 4s, lengths adjusted to widths of boards laid on top, so smaller books can avoid being in a recess...except when objets d'art, knick knacks, tchotchkes, stuffed animals and political dolls and so forth, as well as so ON....whatnots, widgets, and pine cones, shells and natural distractions~~~ are in front of less-used books. CD shelves are very useful, and are often flung, since CDs re not any more useful now than vinyl. I recommend colored sands found in Magic Windows...several other brands available. Clamp lamps with jointed spring-tensioned take up zero extra usable space in my small cat-less dog-less childless paupered cripple's Inner Space. I agree, the varied nooks method is great. I have seen equally asymmetrical shelving from Asia, highly carved. Largest books are on bottom shelves, and most are ON THEIR SIDES, STACKED....as print on bindings mostly are easier to read. Libraries and bookstores hurt injured spine and neck, as one tends to lean to read spines. My dad made redwood shelves for library...we cried...and uses sunken screws on four pieces of wood to make supports, so wood not wasted. The width of 4 by 4s does reduce shelf spaces, and very short shelves make this ratio worse. Minor, given advantages. Dad was an important research scientist, I learned wood shop in pre-prep school...Chris Reeve was a year younger, early 60s, Princeton Country Day, now coed Princeton Day School...but why go to extra work? AND these are modular, adjustable, with mere RESTACKING. Rethanx. Good presentation. I also can vary woods so as to get color variation...white wood ads visibility, but prefer darker...oak too expensive and hard to cut, and painted wood...'de gustibus non disputandum est', except when one likes debate. I prefer to be right in advance, so, left winged.

Usually, especially lately, I haven't felt lie we have a chance.,..especially since 2022 when I lost so much....I haven't been able to drag myself back from the edge. 5:56 some ideas for your setup so you can patent it. use a full monitor in the back to paint or place chinese silk screen theater art stuff and to draw on plastic sheets like the ones you can xerox with a laser printer and then paint on with poster paint. this LCD montor is multiuse. and then have a LCD "pixel scrreen" without the backlight in the front and use paints in the back of it on plastic films (80s overhead projector xerox laser printable) to "bring out colors" you can even have just RGB "stacks and offsets" LCD screen at the back and in in the front planes for digital assets. now if you can understand all that and visualize it, which you won't because you're a homo retard then you can patent it. good luck.

I teach Animation History to my Korean students and shown them all about German director and pioneer Lotte Reiniger about her silhouette stop motion puppetry. And my students project is to do a group short and dirty short film using their cel phones to film their cut out silhouettes with front project. Similar to the Indonesian shadow puppet shows "Wayang Kulit". I presented the history and development of the multiplane camera and yes Lott Reiner again was the first one who developed and created the earliest form of the multiplane. I enjoyed how you showed and built the Multiplane camera and your nice tribute to her passion as a pioneer in stop motion shadow puppetry. BTW I have Lotta Reinger's book too!

I think a big part of it is how you can see the hand of the artist. We know how it’s made and how labor intensive it is, so the appreciation is built in from the first frame. If you made a completely identical film with cgi that was indistinguishable from this, it wouldn’t have the same impact. Everyone has personal experience with playing with dolls. Along with the nostalgia of childhood make believe, it’s easy to understand how this is done, so we know how much effort it takes.
