Bat is for our safety. If your referring to the Dusky Whaler Sharks they are permitted to eat in Qld. up to 1.5m long and 1 per person, so if they fit those parameters they get eaten.

Obviously if you take baby fish then the population will decline and possibly end up extinct. You seem to just make up names for sharks anyway but dusky whalers are an endangered species. So would it be common sense or at least common decency to throw them all back. The law needs to change. Sharks are being outfished quicker than they can reproduce and it's because the laws allow you keep babies but throw back adults. The laws are out dated. Laws take forever to change, meanwhile the actual planet is changing regardless of whether laws change to keep up with it or not. YOU are driving these fish to extinction. Stop fishing them. Have some common sense

I use a double size 8 sinker and ganged 4/0 surecatch hooks ( from ebay) in a paternoster arrangement, 1 metre and 2 metre off the bottom.

The one in the photo is a black tip and they are sweet. Tawny sharks I give to my asian friends to work their culinary tricks on.

When considering this question remember that there is a approx. 4 metre tidal height change. I have never measured from top of the rail to water level. My guess is 3 metres plus.

I made it from scrap from the recycle centre and green garden mesh from bunnings.

Small sharks are regularly caught on herring. A large herring often is taken by sharks up to 10 ft long. Mullet is also very popular.

@uranganpierfishing9442 near the end, I usually move around a few times. Saw only a couple of doggie mackerel and one bream. Ended up walking the flats 10am to midday. Slim pickings there too!
