I have a Ladybug and a Sidekick, and I love those nylon wheels. I'm getting older and having a spinning wheel I can pick up in one hand is a tremendous help.

i think that I now have the courage to try the free motion quilting. I have been putting it off but you explain sooooo well that there now seems to be some method in this "madness". Thank you very much.

hi I am getting a passap pinkie soon, what is the gauge on it? Also, why do you take off the ribbing, before doing the leg? Can't you just turn half the stitches and then do circular for the leg?

I love seeing another male spinning! I am in the market for a wheel... is this still living up to your standards 6 months on?
@suncentaur3 жыл бұрын
I like the wheel. But I haven't used it for several months because I'm going through my quilting phase now. Yes, last time I showed up at a spinning wheel that was the only guy there. Keep on spinning!

Thank you so much you have made this very clear. I have had my E6000 for years and only knit a scarf. Can I ask are the settings you are using the same on the E6000. I have been so nervous of this machine, I think it’s the console that bugs me. But I am going to try a sock.

Thank you for your video. I found it really helpful, especially explaining the actual mechanics of what you need to do, the problems with drag etc. I practised FMQ for the first time yesterday, on a larger piece, a full fat quarter I think. I was amazed to find I could do it easily. However, I now need things like your video to achieve what I want to do. To say my drawing by sewing machine looks a bit amateurish would be an understatement! There's quite a difference between 'can do' and 'can do to a reasonable standard', but I'm getting there :)

I use the cheap 1.00 garden gloves from the $store that have the little rubber dots on the fingers and I have had them for two years. They work great for me. Whatever works right!! Lol. Thanks for the video, I learn something new every day. You can definitely teach an old dog new tricks..I'm proof. 😊

Hey, wait a minute, first of all....grandma isn't bad as designs go...I get what you mean, and Urban Threads is a refreshing change. I am nobody's grandmom, own a commercial machine, and like edgy too. I'm 66 but grand age is changing as baby boomers get old. Yep, I am older and proud of it, beats the alternative...lol... I am very glad for emblibrary and u threads teaming up! Great designs at U.T.

You don't need to transfer stiches to the back bed before knitting with the waste yarn. Just continue with N/N. The waste yarn will not roll.

This gentleman is doing this for free. It is difficult for someone who is not a professional presenter to to get rid of all their mannerisms and talk and think at the same time. Most of us have a repeated phrase that we say when we are trying to gather our thoughts.

Thanks for this video. It's nice to see quilting on a standard domestic machine. So many FMQ videos use high end machines or long arms with stitch regulators. You have given me the confidence to try FMQ on my vintage machine. DR

Good JOB!! I got my first Passap about a dozen years ago, and muddled through it by following the instructions for the mit. then I just started winging it, with experiments, making baby booties, and small items, to get the hang of the procedures. (I also at that time was expecting a grand baby, so it was more exciting to do little things.) I think you did a great job of explaining all your steps. If you get bored making socks, let me know, I will start referring people to you for tights. (that would be long-johns, with the socks attached, for better warmth.)...I could talk to you about the sizes/stitch counts/row count/ for the sizes, to make them perfect fits for each person. :) I hope you are still enjoying your Passap! I know I like all of mine, and am hoping to get my granddaughter now, 11, to learn how to use 2 DM 80's back to back, while I do the other DM 80, and the E6000, back to back. Great explanations, I wish more people would see them, even if they skip most of it, and just get the main points, they would be helped to get a great start and love for the machine.

It's easier to pick up and rehang rib stitches if you:knit one or two rows of stockinette before the waste yarn. Rib stitches tend to separate front and back while stockinette stitches stay in a nice even row. Another thing to try is knit 1 row with ravel cord or a rayon yarn. The older type of very smooth, braided nylon ravel cord helps to keep the stitches a little more open, making them easier to pick up. Did decker combs make this easier for you?

No comments yet, since March 2013? Well here's one, thank you for taking the time to put up this video-its always helpful for us Passap users who are just getting started with our machines. I just paid out £40 for four DVDs before I found these wonderful videos on You Tube, no matter though, everything is helpful eventually.

OMG I am so glad to have stumbled upon this video! I have a Passap e6000 and have really not used it much more than for making test swatches, but could never find anyone who could teach me how to really use it for things I wanted and needed to make! THanks so much for your videos! I'm going home TONIGHT to get started!
