I don't think this video shows the real result (unless the video is displayed properly on an HDR device). I am currently playing Horizon Zero Dawn on my PS5 with a 4K TV with HDR and made a comparison. HDR definitely looks better than off.

Don't know why these videos like to cap. It's the same fucking game. There isn't a ps5 version. The graphics are the same checkerboard resolution when played on both consoles. It's the ps4 version played on the ps5 just like if you play ps4 last of us 2 or the order 1886 on ps5. Same game, slightly faster loading and higher frame rate. That's pretty much it. It's not like the ghost of Tsushima directors cut. I have both consoles. On my tv the game would look exactly the same. If anything the ps4 pro version looks more organic and apocalyptic because the cutscenes show some cars looted and scrapped and the ps5 still shows those same cars intact. Aside from the frame rate difference 🤷 if anything I prefer the colour grading on the ps4 pro.

It only looks better because PS5 plays the PS4 pro enhanced code instead of the base PS4 code most PS4 games with the "pro enhanced" features got patched in and are the ones that are played when you play them in a PS5 some even got resolution and fps patches with it too not many though sadly some that aren't pro enhanced or PS5 patched or both still only play at 1080p 30fps such as Bloodeborne red dead while enhanced somewhat because of my earlier statement never got and fps patch at well sadly so it runs at 30fps but it is 4k checkerboard mind you

Ok, lots of idiots all over this video. In the comments and as the poster. The video itself does not have HDR. You’re comparing SDR content to the SDR colorspace and brightness of HDR. This isn’t what it looks like if you have a proper HDR display, alongside proper HDR content. Honestly, the person who posted this just F’d with a LOT of people. I’ve read plenty of comments that have sworn off HDR because of this video. IT’S NOT ACCURATE. It’s the same idea as looking at 4k content on a 1080p display. You’re not getting the experience that you thought you would’ve, because you’re using things that aren’t made for one another.

HDR look more realistic and immersive while sDr is more cartoony and overly colorful

I played this on ps4, ps5 and pc. It looks stunning on all three but the PS5 is slightly nicer looking than the PS4. As for PC: it can look even better. However, lower graphics with higher FPS on PC makes the game alot more enjoyable to play. So yes: even for high-graphics, high detailed, open world games I prefer 60+ FPS over details. The game never looks better, regardless of settings. :)
