I think the part where the Major recognizes Hitlers voice may be unrealistic. Afaik there's only one recording (the Mannerheim recording) of his normal speaking voice. A normal German would only ever have heard Hitler speak in his strong oratory voice which is fairly different. EDIT: this man was Otto Ernst Remer. A year earlier Hitler had personally given him a decoration, so he'd have heard his normal voice

Steve bannon's heart and soul would have been so into playing the part of Goebbels. However Steve Bannon is proving himself a bad actor.

Tom Cruise may have been the bigger name, but Thomas Kretschmann should have played Stauffenberg.

Von Staffauffenberg is represented in this film as directing a lot of the plot. In real life, his job was to assassinate Hitler. All of the rest was taken care of by others.

"Do you recognise my voice?" "Yes. You're the actor David Bamber. Loved you as Mr. Collins in Pride and Prejudice and Cicero in the Rome miniseries. But by far and away my favourite performance was your Olivier-winning performance as Guy in My Night in Reg on the West End." "Always good to hear from a fan. Thanks." [click]

What if Himmler or Goering was on the line instead of Hitler? (The briefcase that was moved would have had to have both the charged bomb & the uncharged bomb for the bomb(s) to not just kill Hitler, but Keitel & Jodl as well. But neither Goering, nor Himmler, nor Ribbentrop, nor Doenitz were in the conference room.)

Albert Speer was in the room when this happened and gave an account of major Remers attempt to arrest him and the phone call to Hitler. It’s a spot on version of events - except for Hitlers words to Remer.

Remer is one of the most interesting characters in the film. The real-life Remer in fact remained faithful to his ideals after the war and until his death, and even had to go into exile in Spain, when he was persecuted for his ideas in Germany. Many of the characters in the film closely resemble the real ones.
