One good trick i saw with keeping the back from bulging out.. is to use black electrical tape on your bench block. It cushions it just enough.

thank you for posting as a hobbyist one who has many books on silversmithing etc I never came across using the swage block for turning wire to bezel strip , thanks for mentioning it.

It would have been nice to watch you demonstrate with the heavier gauge wire required for that use. I have never seen that type of bench block - very interesting.

It is almost 7 minutes before you begin to give useful information. Cut to the chase. That's my recommendation. I routinely skip through the chat and personal stuff. Just tell us what you know - and you DO know some great artistic advice. So get to it.

Actual demo begins at 9:00 in a 17 min video. Talk less. Do more. This is video not radio. You showed nothing besides hammering a wire. The visuals were poor too. Hold the camera steady and in focus. Demonstrate each tool clearly. Prep work is required before you make a video, don't wing it. Students are not teachers. Learn more before you teach others incorrectly.

They dont sell such a set in my country, there are cheap doming blocks but the metal and quality is not as good. And if I buy it from the link the shipment costs about 120% of the product itself. Oh well.

You just had a bunch of wires put together and you did some crazy thing where you were making up some crazy rhyme…He didn’t finish the bracelet and I am left with more questions than ever. You cannot be proud of this video because it sucks you’ve taught me nothing.
@efuller67703 жыл бұрын
But WHAT do I use it for... how they are used seemed self explanatory but I do have history with other tools in fairness. Thumbnail mildly misleading, having just come across one of these sets was long for what they are used for... jewelry somehow I guess, explains why I haven't really seen the tool before.

As a retired aircraft mechanic, I can attest to the ability of these pliers to really get a uniform twist to the wire when used properly. They are a life saver for the hands when you have to twist multiple wires in a timely manner.

I am so amazed at the number of people on KZbin trying to teach other people something they know nothing about, and they admit that they do not know what they are doing from the start. Why?
@naughtydogfineartstudio79664 жыл бұрын
Because sometimes, like in my case, I notice a common mistake among novice. I have beginner knowledge on the subject but if people want to go further with the art form I am not the person to follow. Kind of like a kendergarden teacher, I can only teach you your ABC's but you dont learn to read from me.
