Hi, appreciate your feedback but our BreatheEZ along with the rest of our filter line has been verified by Intertek (ETL) to meet their Zero Ozone Verification standard as defined by UL 2998. It means Breathe EZ filters have been verified to exceed current enforced ozone emission standards including those from FDA, NIOSH, CARB, EPA and OSHA. Filters adhering to these standards can produce up to 100 TIMES as much ozone as our filters did during recent testing by Intertek. Now Breathe EZ filter are certified under the Intertek Sustainability program.

It's a common sentiment, right? Many of us often wonder why the things we perceive as "the good stuff" are often expensive and seemingly out of reach for the average person. The truth is, there are various factors that contribute to this phenomenon. Quality often comes with a price, as producing something of high caliber requires skilled labor, superior materials, and meticulous attention to detail. Appreciate your feedback though!

Is 60-65 decibels pretty standard? My fan seems louder than last year, but I measured the fan at the cover, and am getting 60 decibels.
@RadonDefense Жыл бұрын
A decibel level of 60-65 is considered relatively standard for a radon fan. An uncommon fan noise can be affected by various factors such as the fan's age, motor quality, installation, and any potential obstructions or debris that may be affecting its performance. If you're experiencing a noticeable increase in noise compared to last year, it could be beneficial to have your fan inspected by our radon professionals to ensure everything is functioning properly.

@GentiluomoStraniero Жыл бұрын
Radon is heavier than air, perhaps an air extractor that pulls air from the lowest point in your basement will keep Radon levels at their lowest. Exhaust the basement away from the home to prevent infiltration. Also coating the bricks, floor and walls in your basement will reduce the accumulation of radon in your basement.

A bit of a problem with this, in an effort to expand the conversation. Increasing the static is always a problem. Do no harm. Don't make thin gs worse. Do not increase resistance. In fact, it's always better/best to increase the square footage of everything you touch, which lowers static. This will also reduce duct leakage to the outside via the lowered static in the ducts forcing house air out. Saves energy & extends the life of the system. Is the system noisy? Noise is wasted energy! Does it rattle? Rattling & shaking also takes energy. There comes a time when we're polishing a turd. Does it burn fuel? You have carbon monoxide and other toxins! It might be time to change that gas guzzler. Then "filtration" is extremely important. The higher MERV, the better. The larger the surface, the better! Imagine anything 50 years old that has never been cleaned. Imagine if your bed sheets were never cleaned! If the filtration is bad, the ducts are even dirtier, plus by-pass. Most duct systems have critters that have perished + decades of dust. I completely realize that these things are much, much more work than some quick-fix band-aid where a company can get in and get out using fast talk, snake oil and flashy marketing gimmicks. It is also the method that will provide the best results for decades to come, for you and future owners for year-round comfort, healthy air and energy savings.

Air disinfection vs. removing particulates. Even adding a single or multiple UVC light isn't going to kill pathogens, bacteria or mold spores unless they happen to get caught inside, and even then the only way the UVC will kill pathogens is if they are directly hit by the light (assuming it stays on all the time). This installation demonstrated is not an efficient way to accomplish air disinfection at all. This does deliver a false sense of security. Save your money.

However seeing your comment it kind of clicked. Still though do they use similar kind of impregnation of the core material for the rectangular cores as well? @@ww-pw6dithe way I like to think of it is like osmosis. Air will only hold so much water per degree of heat. The truth is, in a static air environment, the UVC light will kill the viruses and bacteria. The HVAC moves air efficiently. One would have to install MULTIPLE UV elements on the Supply AND return in order to create enough wattage to give the airborne viruses enough exposure that it kills or degrades them as the air moves through the chambers. There was a study performed on SARS infected blood back in 2003. It details the amount of exposure needed to kill the virus to undetectable levels. Each HVAC setup will require a different number and concentration of UV Light elements. You're hearing this from a Mechanical Engineer. The main function of the UVC light in this video would be to keep mold or mildew from accumulating on the cooling coils. This helps maintain coil efficiency to acceptable levels throughout its service life.
@GentiluomoStraniero3 жыл бұрын
undetectable levels implies the absence of viable viruses.
@eliasqaz Жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. I am a biologist and a have a minor in physics. Bacteria and viruses are extremely small yet definitely greater than photons. UV light emits at the speed of light. It is universally impossible for any air flow pressure to move faster than the emitted light. Therefor any particle passing through will be affected especially organisms like viruses and bacteria will have their genetic mode severely modified.
@GentiluomoStraniero Жыл бұрын
@@eliasqaz As a biologist, you should know that dosage rate depends on the virus dwell time at the source of emissions. In this case the UV Source is static. Even though the UV light is moving at the speed of light, those viruses are moving past the source and the square inverse rule applies and they still need enough dosage to render them non-viable. multiple UV sources in the flow path of the air carrying them will create the environment that degrades them effectively. I work as an ME in the Radio Therapy Industry. Dosage rates given energy levels are always part of the equation when dealing with clinical treatments. I deal with Photons, Electrons, Protons and clingons.

GET RID OF YOUR DEHUMIDIFIER, SAVE MONEY - BUY A BREEZE! Tired of using the old technology of running a dehumidifier (which costs a lot to operate and never gets rid of the toxic basement air) we decided to buy a product called the Breeze for our basement. It has a gentle exhaust fan (115 cfm) that is rated for continuous operation, controlled by a humidistat. Instead of replacing the exhausted air with outdoor air, it draws on the "conditioned" air from the home's first floor, avoiding the humidity problems and allergens that outdoor air present, especially on a rainy or humid day. The air quality in the basement has improved dramatically and we've been able to unplug the energy drawing dehumidifier. No filters or drains are needed. The company sells one and two-fan models that cost from $349 to $449 and carry a 5-year warranty. I strongly recommend the appliance. It's available on the company website (breezesystemsinternational.com) or on Amazon and Ebay. Much cheaper than the $1,500 to $1,800 units sold by Wave Ventilation, Humidex or EZ Breathe. Now our dry basement also has healthy air!
