Hey Vic. I might just call you sometime just to chat about guitars. Would be cool with you?

I owned a Roland Micro Cube modeling amp for many years. It is one of, if not THE most awesome practice amps ever. I loved it. I sold it about 3 years ago to a very good friend for him to give to his daughter as a Christmas present. I just had finished setting up her Epiphone Les Paul (added some nice upgrades too), that had sat untouched for a while. We added a new case, strap, cords, books and all together that was her Christmas gift from her father. Together her interest in playing was renewed and she is now an awesome guitarist. Her singing is awesome too. Remember the name Sophie. She may be famous someday soon.

Did you get s PRS for Christmas? Or is that Buddy's? It is a little rare to see a PRS in the shop. They usually work great. I would love to own one, but the higher end models are pretty pricey for me.

I thought PRS😮 was building high end domestic units and also contracting with chinese factories for their affordable lines. Much like Fender. I heard this from a PRS tech video. Here is a quote from PRS: Private Stock, Core, S2, and Bolt-On instruments (including the Silver Sky, Fiore, CE and DW Signature models) are produced by our dedicated teams of craftspeople in our factory in Stevensville, MD. SE Solid-body and Semi-Hollow instruments (including the SE Silver Sky, SE Zach Myers, and SE Custom 22 Semi-Hollow) are produced by our dedicated partners in the Cor-Tek Surabaya, Indonesia factory. SE Acoustic & Hollow-body instruments are produced by our dedicated partners in the Cor-Tek Dalian, China factory
@stringmanguitars43292 күн бұрын
Yes the SE line is Excellent this is not that. This is garbage fake counterfeit that the guy bought for his guitar room wall. He’s got a room full of chibson stuff. He simply wanted them “playable” he also has a gang of high end REAL guitars as well. These are just wall art.

How do you take the strings off? I unwound the string and can’t get the string ball out
@stringmanguitars43295 күн бұрын
There is room to grab the ball end from the back of the bridge with some needle nose pliers.
@johnwilson78095 күн бұрын
Like mine, the neck pickup is MUCH lower volume than the bridge pickup. But you can only raise the neck pickup a very small amount. And you can't lower the bridge pickup much because the cover hits the strings (the cover moves with the pickup). So apparently Rick wants the bridge pickup MUCH louder than the neck pickup?

I bought a Mexico special as b stock and it took me a month to get it playable. When I got it. None of the strings even rang because of bow in the neck. It was a mess and I almost sent it back but it only cost €450 and i loved the small size and the sound of the pickups. Pickup switch also had bad soldering. Once i got it playable it was great but I did wonder if it was sent back because it originally came that way from the factory?
@stringmanguitars43298 күн бұрын
Not sure. You do give up a bit when you buy Made in Mexico. The old phrase “You get what you pay for“ certainly applies to guitars as to everything else in life. Glad you got it sorted. Nearly everything can be made playable. Thanks for watching.

Hey brother, what is your honest opinion of this EVH Wolfgang Special built in Mexico? Do you think it is quality built? Do you think the setup is good from the factory? I'm thinking about possibly buying one! Thanks for your input!
@stringmanguitars4329Ай бұрын
I believe they are well built. They all really need a setup as they are made in Mexico then shipped to a different climate, then to you. Wood always moves climate to climate and season to season. So yeah get them set up.
