I'd rather be doing this with Myron Cook. He'd be telling us exactly how those stones were formed.😅😅😅😅 Where's Myron Cook?

I am 77 years old and it will have to be a slow walk as far as I can go. No need to make the top. I just need to be there. I love the Blevins Trail. Easy on my two replacement hips. Wife and I are snowbirds.

Glad you liked my video. The hike up to the cave is a challenge- depending on age, condition, etc - but you will pleased with yourself if you make it all the way up to the cave. And the view is great!

If Union soldiers took that long to fire 1 round, they would have lost every battle. Not as loud as I thought it would be.
@stagecoacherАй бұрын
It's a ritualized demo, not meant to be authentic. Actual noise was much louder than my camera could capture. Especially in comparison to the 12-pounder mountain howitzer the crew had fired earlier. The audience really jumped when this cannon fired.

My parents and I were there back in June 1977 and stayed overnight at the lone picnic area. We saw a breathtaking sunset and during the night we heard scratching noise coming from the front of our camping van. It was creepy. The following morning, we went for our walk and checking out the battlefield. It is a quite interesting place.

I stopped there in 1973, transporting my Appaloosas home to southern Oregon after riding to White Hall, Montana, to water them and let them graze for awhile, when Mr. Forest Service man told me I wasn't allowed to let my horses graze on grass that Chief Joseph's Appy's did. Imagine that, the Government that killed the Nez Perce, didn't want my horses eat or drink the water!

James Saban is my great-grandfather. I'm glad you enjoyed the hike up to the tower as the view is epic. The Bighorn Mountains have some hidden gems for hiking and camping. Interesting fact, my grandfather is still alive at 94 and has written several books about the area and growing up in the Bighorn Mountains. He would take me hiking almost weekly as a kid and tell stories about this area for hours.

I just LOVE your clip! I find it a clever idea to document everything visually in a detailed way and have the mutliple interpretive signs do the narrating with the same background music running the length of the video, thus forming a kind of entity. This experience made me feel like I had actually just visited the place myself, really! Gave me goosebumps!

There was a really bad snow storm last February 2024 that hit Mount Ord while I was driving through from AZ To NM. I grew up in ND driving on iced over roads with large snow drifts most of my life but that drive in the mountains with zero visibility, heavy snowfall, at 5am was the most sketchy stretch of road I have ever driven on. It took us almost 4hrs to crawl over that mountain because we could only drive 5-10 mph. Just thought I would share lol
