Drop over to the DO THE TON website (can't post a link in a comment) and search KZbin for more DO THE TON videos. We get together in Alabama every October for the Barber festival.

Swing by DO THE TON (Google "Tim's XS Project"- can't post the link in comments here). You can see every nut and bolt of the bike build from start to finish :) and more pics.

bike sounds great. do you have any other videos showing a walk around of the bike?

I bet that was a blast. I'm an XS rider myself. I'm digging the mini speedometer/tach combo. Were those hard to install? Stock speedo cable works for that? I'm guessing there are internal lights. Are those hard to hook up?

What a beautiful place to ride. I've gotta get out there someday!

I got it on eBay a number of years ago. There was only one guy selling them, and he listed a few one at a time to maximize the selling price :) Thankfully it's stainless steel so it should last a lifetime. BTW sorry for the mixed responses - I run DO THE TON, a website dedicated to vintage bikes and was logged into KZbin under that account when I replied.

Well thanks for the tip :-) Can you tell me where you found your stop watch mount? They are really hard to find!

Don't recall the make. No mechanical stopwatch (aside from those hyper-expensive TAG models etc. that are designed for rally cars) are intended to be vibrated like this. I paid $15 for the watch and it was on there for a couple years, so no big deal. Will buy another.

Thanks for the quick response! Was it a Hanhart stopwatch? It looks like one and i wanted to buy one, but if it can't stand the vibrations...

It's a vintage 1950's Terry's bicycle stop watch mount. I picked it up a few years back but they're really hard to find. Sadly the watch finally gave up the ghost, killed by the XS incessant vibrations. I've since rephased the motor so it's smoother, but its also a big bore hot cam monster now too :) Have to replace the watch (which went flying off the bike during a high speed run a few months back).

Beautiful, nice ride, good skills. A great road, I've ridden it many times, if you don't ride it with respect, it will kill you.

I really like your videos, thanks for posting them. Any chance you could do a walk-around description of your bike? I'd really like to see more of it. From what I've seen it looks like a really cool bike.

I'm rolling along at 20-30MPH on a 40 year old motorcycle with drum brakes, not trying to drag a knee. Oh, and learn to spell. It looks like you're not paying enough attention when you type your comments.

Learn to counter steer. It looks like your driving the bike not riding it.
