Tuscany is an area in Italy. It is filled with beautiful traditional old-world homes among the hills.

Sir this technique can be use in Acrylik ?
@stottsfineart9481
@stottsfineart9481 23 күн бұрын
Yes, but not quite as thick. Acrylic will shrink a bit as it dries. Acrylic paint is not quite as heavy bodied as the oil. I have used acrylics this way, but again, oil stands up thick, better than acrylics usually.

May i ask here again? Do you get this look of the painting by glazing and removing thin acrylic paint? Thx.
@stottsfineart9481

@z.z.1205 Yes, both application and partial removal of layers, like antiquing furniture with stains.

@z.z.1205 That's what I'm doing. I'm treating it like my live in person classes. I think you actually see what's going on better, and I explain what and why along the way, with a little humor too.

This washed look is really great. Is the rug you use wet? Thx
@stottsfineart9481
@stottsfineart9481 Ай бұрын
Yes, the paper towels are damp. I submerge them then squeeze them out completely. I don't want them dripping wet, simply damp. If they are dry, they take off too much of the wet paint.

YES BRING ON THE OILS PLEASE 🙏 ESPECIALLY PALLET KNIFE TECHNIQUES, THAT I SORELY LACKING HERE ON KZbin!! Sorry for the caps(got excited when i heard oils and pallet knife in the same sentence..), but oil painting pallet knife techniques are honestly very few and far between here on youtube, especially your type of thick impasto like paintings im sure you can attract a good crowd to those kind of videos alone! Good luck!

*"Hey maaa! Can i get some IMPASTO ovahh here! Nahh, no not PASTA, IMPASTO!!"* _~said in the most Boston-like voice possible_ Anyways lol I like it man! Being an oil painter myself i can appreciate the amount of time and paint that mustve took to get so much texture in that piece. Did you use cold wax or any other medium or is it straight oil paint?
@stottsfineart9481
@stottsfineart9481 Ай бұрын
I always used oil paint totally, but I just recently started using a thick bodied Lukas product that expands the paint some and also lessons the drying time from about a year to about 3 months.

Skip Bayless? For real? Shoot I miss the old First Take on ESPN it was a great show. The one Fox Sports is not bad though especially since ESPN has been on the decline in my opinion. I found your story quite fascinating. It's funny how life works though, you get good at a specific sport, choose commercial art as ur education and then end up as a fine artist as ur profession lol. Good video overall i thoroughly enjoyed it as well as your background. This is my first time around your channel, and i see youve got a some more videos posted that imma have to have a gander at. So you've got a new subscriber today my friend! Keep the videos coming! One last thing, a quick tip about the screen situation, my guess is that your using your phone to record ur videos; if so an easy fix is to just turn your phone 90° to landscape mode when you record that should solve ur issue that the other commenter brought up previously. It is mush easier on the eyes but its your channel you do what you want! Like you said artistic license(this could include youtube too!) Anyways, i hope this helps! Now im off to go explore your other content! See you around. 🫡 ~Matt from California.

Skip used to come over to the house for church youth parties when I was a kid. He is just a little older than me. Vince Gill was younger than me at Northwest High School in OKC, and I did not know him, as it was a very big high school. It is interesting to see how lives turn out from those early acquaintances. Another famous Northwest grad is Mason Williams (Classical Gas) guitar solo. He was well before I was there.
