And d'Alembert. And then Laplace who built on all their efforts. His 5 volume Mécanique Célestial was the product of a century of effort from five of the greatest mathematicians that ever lived. And to claim Newton's beliefs hindered him? Newton's passionate pursuit of answers was his way of giving glory to God. I believe Newton would be furious to hear the way Tyson uses his name to attack belief in God Let Tyson become known for this slander.
