Thanks for posting these bits of history! In light of Mr Harvey's decades-long career, could you possibly include the date of broadcast? It would help with context and perspective for the listener. JMHO

Strangely enough Chitty Chitty bang bang did start Dick Van Dyke a frequent star of Disney movies, and the music was composed by Richard and Robert Sherman who composed a lot of music for the Disney movies. But it was not a Disney production! Paul Harvey you were wrong and friends now you know the rest of the rest of the story.

That's not the whole story. One year when Wagner was truly down on his luck the only two helps he received came from two Jews. Yet e remained a Jew hater a favorite of Hitler.

George Wallace was a man of contradictions. He is well known for his "stance in the schoolhouse door" trying to turn black students away from the University of Alabama. He was known as one of the "racist southern governors" who stood in the way of civil rights in their respective states. However, years later, after he was paralyzed by a gunman, he found Jesus Christ as his Savior and made the extraordinary (for politicians) effort to apologize for his past deeds to ask for forgiveness from the black people and promised to do better. Later, with the help of black voters, he won another trip to the Governor's Mansion in Montgomery and helped to pass some landmark legislation that helped poor blacks to rise up out of poverty. As a Baptist pastor, I find the one thing that changed him was Jesus Christ in his heart. Redemption is possible if you have a changed heart as Wallace had.

That was a good one. Now, if you don't mind, let me give you a hint. Don't give away the subject in the title. You could've titled this one 'Little Al' or something along those lines. Little Al could tell you, suspense is the most important thing. 😉

We used to sing this is Kindergarten. Never knew the story until I heard this on the radio.
@eltonron1558Ай бұрын
The better part of the story, is that the way it happened was not like the movie, but would have been shocking if it was. The ten commandments, is not the law of Moses. All laws given to him were in private, and none else heard, but NOT the commandments. Moses just documented the entire 12 tribes HEARING GOD, declare them, thus, not the law of Moses, thus, Mathew 4:4, from the beginning of his ministry. If you know the Bible, you know the commandments happened in Exodus 20. They weren't put in stone, until 11 chapters later, in Ex. 31.

Except that war wasn't fought for slavery no more than the war in Iraq was fought for weapons of mass destruction. It was a political ploy Buy Lincoln to keep the Copperheads from persuading the Yankee moderates to end the war. So just like any other president who goes after the hawkish bunch in this country that's what Lincoln did he went after the hawkish abolitionist. In Lincoln's own words I don't give a damn about the slaves if I could preserve the union without freeing a single slave I would if I could do it by freeing half of them and leave him half in slavery I would do that too and if I could do it without freeing a single slave I would do that also! It is only the uneducated and those that have fell victim to 160 years of propaganda who believed that war was fought over slavery. For the man in the South it was a war of Northern aggression and Northern invasion. These were the men who were in The Trenches where the metal met the meet and they didn't give two damns about slaves. They were fighting because of blue Yankee horde had invaded our home. Billy yank was fighting to preserve the union he also didn't give a good goddamn about slaves ! That war was nowhere near as preventable as the one we're about to fight again is to stop
