Didn’t really recognise much, that’s what happens after 40 years I guess, places change and so does your memory.

This really does show the amount of infill and new developments that have gone on in my 56 years. Most if not all of the old orchards and large gardens have disappeared. The town is hemmed in to the west by the A15, and the Horkstow road residents won't have their views interrupted, so it can only expand eastwards. On land originally designated for industrial development. Maybe we'll eventually join up with Barrow! 😁👍

Lovely video. It brought back childhood memories. I remember many years ago, in the 60`s, travelling with our Granddad in the car this way to go to Cleethorpes. I remember going over this bridge.

Good. Thanks for that. Please do it again when the sun is not so low down that it washes out a lot of the video. Secondly there is a middle area with the parish church which you missed out

Although the drone is viewing Cantley Park, it is also showing the Housing Estate which was built in the main in the 1050s, having 2 water towers in the distance. Next to the Park there was once a School called Wilby Carr. Sandal Beat Woodland and the other local Cantley woodlands are shown.

Really good aerial shot of Manvers Lake. I can wholly recommend walking around about 2.5km perimeter of the lake. It has a Boat house, water sports. There is wildlife, swans, ducks and even 4 terrapins.

This is the second video I have found of Norton on KZbin, and is my spiritual home, lovely drone footage seeing my old home from the air. Over the years norton has changed so much, but never the less, so many memories, mostly good ones.

What a lovely video. I live 5 miles from Elsecar, nearly all the villages had a pit in the old days, but you wouldn't know by this footage, all is clean, tidy,no muck heaps to be seen now. Nice you got the Newcomen Engine in the view near the end, it is the oldest steam engine in its original position in the world, also the little steam Engine heading towards Cortonwood. Sadly now the railway at Elsecar is not running, but hoping some funding will come from somewhere.
