Despite how infamous/arduous the development of this particular game was for you, I'd still be down to attempt GM-ing a session of any version of Metal Saviors. Heck, the same would apply to most of your TRPG projects. Either way, keep up the solid work Notepad.

This game is basically the story of Australia. The country sent off all the criminals and people they didn't want to an isolated island, where all sorts of dangerous animals and peoples want to kill them. And much like Australia, they learned to live together and build communities for safety, developed trade, and tamed the wilds.

I know this is ancient history now as far as the internet is concerned, but for new players watching this (or for returning players still struggling with the mechanics), I wanted to add a few details. 1. In addition to what Notepad explained, a successful 100% risk performs your chosen action AND puts your character into defensive mode. This is extremely handy when you have 1 rank in Ward and have the healing aura ability, because you trigger this heal with defensive mode. So you should always keep your healer adjacent to your frontline even if you are just risk-blasting because you will periodically heal people. 2. Also for risk, when you perform a successful 100% risk, you always gain 10% XP bonus if you are below 100% for the map. After that, it has diminishing returns, but still scales. So unless a fumble would put you at risk of dying or not being able to finish the map, ALWAYS risk it even on the last action of the turn. You should be able to get to level 2 from only the first map. I didn't even know it was possible to still be level 1 on the 3rd map lol. 3. Enemy targeting is extremely simple. They target whoever is closest and try to surround them. On that note, the aggro system is just as simple. They do not have a social mechanic at all, it is purely based on line of sight. Enemies that are clumped together will not attack all at once if you slowly inch up to peek points and only spot 1. If you initiate combat with 1 enemy when you think or know there are more, stay where you are or back up, because you can single pull enemies to make life easier. 4. There is no harm in putting a melee weapon in a mage's weapon slot if you have the space open, to save backpack space. Attacks are based solely on skills, and weapons only enhance those skills. Worst case scenario, if someone walks up to your make in melee, you can do more damage with a smack. 5. Even when you secure an area, the rooms may hold more secrets. Don't leave early like Notepad and miss potential recruits without checking all the buildings and corners. 6. Quite a few monster types understand the common language and can be recruitable. Many monsters have unique abilities that are exclusive to those monster types and can have great synergy with skills. For example, that sasquatch is an amazing tank if you can get one early. They have compounding HP bonuses and can become unkillable with Guard and Ward skills. There are also some monster types that have the ability to communicate with creatures that don't understand language, such as witches and hags, which can lead to even more unique monster party members. I just started the series on KZbin, but enjoying it so far.

12:45 "You can go through the whole game ass-naked and nothing changes" That's not QUITE correct. Something does change.

1:42:37 ah, very unfortunate. when you clicked "leave it", in that moment of hesitation all the people were killed. had you broken through without hesitation, there would've been a unique character for you there.

you really don't need to scramble to put clothes on those characters. the pixel art itself already provides enough censorship for KZbin and it ought to be enough for Twitch too.

Nah, these are for the Stream Archives. Little Opinions, Detoxes, Curious Cases, and anything "Major" will still go on the main channel.
