How long did it take you to get comfortable with the big setup, or even the A6000 setup? I have a Sony RX100 V with Fantasea underwater housing, but even that I feel is quite a lot sometimes. Because when I'm photographing, I'm not focusing on the diving. I have to dial in my ISO, check my shutter speed, look for a good composition, and then there is the fact that there is no feedback on the half press of the shutter. And the RX doesn't do back button focusing (it does, except that is tied in to a certain focus mode - pretty weird). I don't think I can hear the focus beep either, so everything is just more cumbersome. And as I said, while I'm doing that, I'm not paying attention to things like buoyancy, because I can only do one thing at a time. :) I actually bought a GoPro Hero 11 because of this. But yeah, the sensor is quite small at 1/1.9 inch, and it's not made for photography either. I've logged about 50 dives so far. Though I will say that I'm learning that my equipment really affects my attitude in the water. If it's bad equipment, I'm angry. ;) No, I mean when the cylinder is too low (and I think it often was for me), my body doesn't want to stay horizontal. So maybe things will get easier. I have a DSLR as well, a Nikon D750, but I travel with cabin luggage only, so I'm not going to get a housing for that I think. :)

Would those separator pads protect from impacts? or is it just purely for separating?, I don't see any protection on the lid. This concern plus wanting something suitable for everything Is why I didn't go for a photography back pack. As I'm a mountain biker that likes to combine the hobbies, I was skeptic. I didn't see any tool compartment. But I saw a Explorer 30L so went for that instead, it has well vented back. This one doesn't. So I keep my camera between two heavy duty elbow pads, in a bag that my bed sheets came in, use a back protector wrapped over it. I can fit a Sony A7IV with 24-70GMII and a tripod inside, and still have room for a head, and possibly another lens if it's not too big. Camera survived one crash already. But I wouldn't mind the backpack to taking more than 30L. But I wanted something I could use for grocery shopping too, and never swap the tools and spare parts over to another backpack.

there is a 40L from evoc as well. I traveled a lot with these backpacks the last years and we did many productions. Never had something broken. Pretty good quality. We made one 18L backpack in collabo with my company Haukland, but this might be too small for you to fit your stuff. Tripod I usualy put on the outside not inside. There are extra latches for this

Bought my A7 IV 3 months ago with an 28-75mm f/2.8 from Tamron and i‘m still impressed by this camera even though it‘s still the base and better lenses step up the game faster, but I definitely can recommend this combo. Maybe because of 6fps/10fps shooting it‘s not a sports camera but for everything else very great 👍

The S5ii is the best deal under $1500 hands down. Open Gate is a game changer and Panasonic's IBIS is revolutionary. Nothing comes close

I think cameras are like cars. People choose on a mix of budget, features, comfort and a bit of self expression. I have Fujifilm X-T5 which is great for travel, street and family due to accessibility of exposure triangle and size. The 40 mp sensor gives flexibility for cropping. I have Fujifilm x-H2s for video and wildlife photography - stacked sensor, 40fps, pre-capture. I think the colour handling of Fujifilm is a real strength too. The lenses are great from fujifilm and good value compared to full frame counterparts.

Does anyone know, he said the SONY camera has good autofocus for video. I am wanting to primarily shoot videos so the Panasonic camera seemed like a good choice since it is capable of shooting 4k 60fps. I am wondering if the Panasonic has autofocus features as well, and if it does which would really be better, the sony or Panasonic?
@BenjaminJaworskyj
@BenjaminJaworskyj 13 күн бұрын
The sony is newer and so is the autofocus. The Panasonic has an old autofocus system.

I picked up the r50 on sale refurbed from canon for 450. I have a bunch of lenses but from a starter perspective you can get an ef to r mount adapter on amazon for 50 bucks or less. Then get wonderful ef and ef-s lenses used first cheap 100-200 bucks.

Hi, I"m only a hobbiest when using Photoshop and Affinity. I purchased Affinity photo v1.8 and I'm getting to know it better than i did. The BIG reason for my to get away from Photoshop is the bloody price per month. I"m in Australia, so when converting ozzie dollars to us dollors, it's bloody expensive when I'm only using Photoshop before 1 or 2 times a week for short periods editing my photos. Now, with Serif letting people use Affinity Photo 2, Designer 2 and Publisher 2 for 6mths trial, I"m in, I'm using it. When my trial with Serif runs out, I'll definately be purchasing them as they will be MINE, MINE<MINE<MINE. Did I make it clear, It will be MINE. One time purchase and bloody goodbye Photoshop. Cheers Teddy.

This is wrong. Activate focus peaking. Use the closest distance that will render the background in focus. Never focus at infinity

So if I'm shooting in the daytime at peak brightness, I definitely like the Cine4 profile. It's only a base ISO of 200, which is great to having my ND filter work without needing one that is stop 10. Often, on SLOG3, you have to step down to f/4-8, and then also have an ND that stops down to 7; if you don't want to change the shutter speed beyond 1/50. Cine4 may not be the most ideal, in terms of shadow retainment, but when you are at 200 ISO, this matters far significantly less since there is minimal noise in those shadows.
