Hey, looking at getting the hydra synth. To use with my mpc how are you connecting it. And how do you find the workflow when making beats?

Hey man! Works great with the MPC as it has midi and plenty of audio i/o. If you have the mpc with CV, even better.

@@jamesmoores1887 Midi out from MPC to MIDI in of Hydrasynth to control it, then run into one of the audio inputs to monitor and record the audio signal.

Your style is amazing, Paul. I really enjoy your compositions!! This taped EP is so refined and the choice to make music going hardware, analog instead of software and digital is one of the goals I would achieve too in my next productions. Congrats again from Rome, Italy -Luca

@@FaraceChannel did you ever play on a Asturia Minifreak? If so, how would you compare it to the Hydrasynth? I'm torn between the 2. I have a MPC Live mk1 arriving in a couple days, and I want to get some other equipment to work in tandem; hence on of those synths. I'm definitely gonna need a mixer cause I want to be able to track vocals and acoustic guitar as well. I was considering the Tascam Model 12 or the Presonous Studiolive, but I don't think the Studiolive is compatible with the 24-bit 44khz of the MPC (I may has my numbers slightly off, but the Studiolive is like 24-bit 94khz) I'm not sure if that makes a difference, and I don't want to buy the wrong equipment. Any recommendations/opinions? This track you made is fire, I can't wait to start cooking up.

Thank you so much for making this. I've watched some of your other videos and your story is inspiring for those of us that have decided to put family and "real life" first. Please keep making more tutorials! I've already learned from your videos that i own WAY too much gear for what i need. I have the mpc one and i am very interested in seeing more tutorials on breaks and progressive house on the mpc when you have time. Unfortunately, for me, most tutorials for mpc products are hip hop. Thank you so much again and best of luck in your return to music. I hope you achieve whatever your goals are artistically or professionally...or both. 😊

Good tips. I started making music and Djing over 20 years ago basically taught myself as there was no KZbin around then. I’m sure I developed some bad habits but I think it adds to my style. Building a template that worked for me is probably one of the most important things I learned that help speed up my workflow. I can now focus on the writing process and much less about routing and processing etc. also I noticed a big jump in progress when I started to incorporate hardware into my setup. I find it much more inspiring when I program hardware synths and drum machines. Only thing I struggle with now is finding people that I can get honest feedback from. Any suggestions?

It’s still no plumps tune 😉 they had the best sound , it took me years to figure out how they made tunes so good and it turned out all they used was sample Cds believe it or not . I was actually thinking about doing a tutorial on how to sound like fingerlickin records but I’ll see if I get round to it
