I think I just finished the prologue? No idea. Have no clue what's going on in the story and the combat was completely trash and enemies were so overpowered it took like 5 retries every fight. The only weapon given was a revolver that breaks after a few shots. Thought this game was about decisions but it was all just fighting and random story lines that make no sense. One of the worst games I've ever played in my life. Also almost every line of dialogue was either just wrong grammar or missing words and didn't make much sense.

The variety in the base game is not good so im not believing this at all. Only robots humans and a couple of bad animals thats it

Ignore the nay sayers. It's not the bEsT sUrViVaL gAmE eVeR but if this is your genre you should try it out. There's a Freeplay mode where you can do whatever you want and there's no pressure to complete any missions. It's different but it's good.

Had a ton of fun with it! The mix of roguelike strategy and tower defense really kept me hooked. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for future updates!

I love this game. It very much feels like it could've been made by LucasArts in the early 1990s. Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, Sam & Max, and now Loco Motive. Great review!

The graphics were not as good as Halo 2 or Half-Life 2 because there's an in-game mapmaker which extends the replay-ability of the game for far longer if people actually understood it at the time, but obviously they didn't considering Halo 2 and Half-Life 2 were more popular. If an FPS game were released today with a custom in-game map editor/mapmaker, it would probably pop-off.

Sniper missions are impossible to get through on modern machines; the supercharged enemy AI absolutely wrecks ya as soon as you get one pixel out of cover; it is brutal.

This seems a lot like a Chilla’s Art game (The Convenience Store, The Closing Shift) but with the art style of Paratopic and Bloodwash. However, it sounds like unlike the Chilla’s games, there’s no actual horror plotline…? 😮

Kiosk definitely has that eerie, lo-fi aesthetic like Paratopic and Bloodwash, and the mundane job setting is similar to Chilla’s Art games. But you’re right, there’s no traditional horror plotline with a clear antagonist or supernatural twist. Instead, the unease comes from the isolation, unsettling interactions, and the lingering sense that something just isn’t right. It’s more psychological than outright scary.

Have they added more punishing realism? Id like an "expert mode" where you cant go full throttle around tight corners without derailing, and where couplers break if the throttle is not managed properly, where the airbrakes dont replensish untealistically fast, etc.

Totally agree . IF YOU SPEC ALL POINTS INTO BOW YOU GET AIM BOT ARROWS 😅. you can shoot a random arrow and kill something was fun . We are about to start are 4th play through as New World is just not giving us are end game content 😢

👋hey. I have tsw2&3. 3 used to have bad performance on ps5. This company known for moving forward without addressing any previous issues. Lots of lag and stutter finally pushed me away so I didn’t bother to buy 4th .Did they fix all stutter and lag issues on console or it’s exactly the same as it was? Im not putting my time anymore if it’s just a cash grab again for couple of months before tsw6 coming out

Hey! Performance issues, especially on consoles, have been a long-standing concern with this series. From what I’ve seen, TSW5 still has some stuttering and occasional lag on consoles, particularly with environment streaming and signaling systems. While there are improvements, it’s not a complete fix, and if performance was a deal-breaker for you in TSW3, you might still run into some of the same frustrations here. If Dovetail follows their usual pattern, patches could help, but I get why you'd be hesitant. Appreciate you sharing your experience!

I have been playing since wc1 and playing at work on hotspot for the last 15 years. Ever since they did updates it no longer works it’s been 3 months of trying and reinstalling .. but stuck at lions head. Works fine on WiFi but didn’t work on my iPhone 14 Pro Max since November and now on my new 16 pro max still stuck at the lion screen :(

There are still occasional bugs, like wildlife behavior or minor glitches, but overall, it’s much more polished now and fully playable.

Multiplayer modes are missing. A heavily redesigned livery editor / pattern groups to create and save. Lots more wagons and locomotives. and stretch more. You could also create your own routes, as long as they are big and fun.
