Honestly with Tony i expected him to snap at chris for talking about his own father, tony can be selfish like that but what i liked is that after Chris openly said his dad was nothing more than a junky, Tony stayed silent.

Tony telling an addict to lay off the drugs and alcohol because he can’t have eggplant anymore is actually funny

It’s fascinating how when he’s sober, Chris not only keeps up with Tony but kind of mentally runs circles around him here. Tony comparing alcoholism to his inability to eat eggplant wasn’t worth dignifying with a full response. Tony gets petty and offended because Chris is showing enough accountability to avoid the place that triggers his addiction instead of just succumbing to it and blaming everyone else, like Tony does with his gambling, eating, and whoring. Completely shutting down his mystified view of Dickie Moltesanti. It’s a shame Tony was able to so effectively keep Chris under his thumb and pressure him back into his addictions. Sure, Chris is an awful human being, they all are, but with sobriety and some more time away from Tony, he had the makings of a Varsity decent human being.

I like how the reason the made men betrayed Junior to give the family to Tony is because Junior isolated himself too much. By the end of the series, Tony has either ostracised or straight-murdered most of his earners.

I love how Tony downplays Chrissy's genetic disposition towards addiction as a crutch here. But with Carmela he gets offended when she uses the term Soprano card to trivialize his depression and panic attacks, always the hypocrite.

Chris was a piece of sh@t just like every one in this show but when he was able to get out with Adriana (which he abuse her many times) he couldn't do it. The simple fact of having a normal life and struggling scared him when he saw that family at the gas station. Just like Carmela when she saw Agent Fat Man's wife working at the supermarket 🤣🤣 they deserved everything that happened to them.

Chris admitting that his dad was a piece of shit is another huge turning point in the relationship between Chris and Tony. Chris is starting to see things for what they are, which he fully realizes in the Bing when everyone is laughing at him. Chris stops caring at all because he realized he fucked everything up, and Tony notices this more and more, so he kills him. It really makes me wonder if Chris became a rat, I used to really dislike this theory but it's all there. He talks about ratting to JT before he shoots him, and he's wearing the cleaver hat in his final scenes which might be bugged. The cat staring at his picture is really what seals it for me, it kills all the rats in the kitchen, then it stares at Chris incessantly. I personally hope Chris did become a rat, it would let him take revenge on all of the guys who treated him like shit, and give him a chance at a new life.
