Love this look into the skincare cabinet. I love French skincare and I also have a few favourites amongst the bodyshop range (mainly the vitamine E and vitamine C products). They did bring back the Vitamine E sleepingmask in tube form.😊 I have found some very nice skincare at the German drugstore. I found that both DM and Rossmann have some excellent products to offer for very affordable prices.

Hi Maaike I also have a mixture of K beauty and French pharmacy products usually with my prescription azelaic acid for my rosacea. I can’t use anything with fragrance and my skin randomly freaks out despite great ingredients list as something in the formula doesn’t agree with me 😢. I wasn’t able to use the Bioma unfortunately for that reason. Best wishes x

The Avene may be good for you then! It has no fragrance at all. I was shocked when I first used it because much skincare usually has some.

@@floatinginbooks I have used it before and it’s fine as a skin protection product, but it’s not moisturising enough as a daily moisturiser for my extremely dry skin. I’m glad you like it though x

What are your tips for breaking new docs in? I had a pair of classic 1460s years ago that i could never break in which i eventually got rid of. Then in the last few years i got two pairs (jadon boot and bex oxford) and im almost scared to wear them because i remember the pain the last ones caused lol

A playing card on the inside of your sock (vertically) to protect the back of your heel and sticking duct tape on the inside of the shoe where they rub. For tightness round the toes I recommend putting on the shoes in your home when they are new wearing 2 - 3 pairs of thick socks so they are super tight. Then use a hairdryer to warm up the leather and warm around in your home while wearing the shoes. This will stretch out the shoe.

Have you ever had or considered getting your color analysis done? You look like you might be a warm tone, which is autumn or spring. A lot of the dark and cool colors you have in your wardrobe, that you are keeping are more of someone in the cool winter color palette.

I am actually planning on doing a DIY color analysis soon. I am actually neutral for the most part: my skin is cool toned, but my hair and eyes make me more warm toned. So I think I am actually in between an autumn and a winter. Bright red from the winter palette is one of my best shades, but the neutrals from the autumn palette are some that I like to wear a lot too. Also I go for a mix of colors between my makeup and my outfits to balance things out. Therefore I believe color analysis in seasons is too restricting. I prefer to actually look at how the whole thing comes together using color theory rather than sticking to seasons.

@floatinginbooks yeah for sure. Like for example, I'm bright winter, which means I can borrow from bright spring. You definitely looked good in the brighter and bolder colors. Which the brighter seasons lean on the neutral scale.

No I store everything in their respective sections in my wardrobe year round as I can wear sweaters in summer and t-shirts in winter (for layering). I just have half of a bedroom that was converted to a small walkin wardrobe.

I read 5 books in 10 days! It's been a great reading tool. I love the fact that it has a light. Makes it easier to read in bed as well.

Hi Maaike I wear a lot of linen wide leg trousers in the Summer. I feel that they never really go out of style and my local next certainly sells them every year😂. I have them in multiple colours and pull them out every year to wear. They’re not see through and just plain linen. I don’t mind the simplicity of pure linen and it being a bit creased as the day goes on 😂. Best wishes x

Hi Maaike it sounds like Scottish weather 😂. The last few weeks have been all over the place- some days are warm with or without sun and many others are grey with rain and lower temperatures. I do swap out my clothes for the season, but I don’t put away my jeans or more lightweight cardigans and hoodies. I have raincoats in both lightweight fabrics and my Winter coats are also waterproof (those Winter coats are packed away). I also carry both sunglasses and an umbrella or pack away raincoat if I have a Summer jacket on. I’m still wearing my leather jacket sometimes in this month of July, so that shows how varied our weather has also been. I like pretty dresses and linen trousers in the warmer weather, but haven’t had much wear out of them so far😢. Best wishes x
