I’m visual, so seeing this without someone talking helps me a lot and doesn’t distract me. You do your stitches nice and slow so I can follow along And repeat the process.

Nice review. I just bought the “dictionary” from your link, and I already have some of the others. I’d love to browse the historical books, but they are too pricy. I’m just getting started with the Alabama Chanin technique, which I love. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

@@Pumora I think it comes from within. It's not just knowledge and skilI but inttegrity and values as well. I and read and watched articles, videos about Natalie, inteviews with her, and I was always getting the same message: she's a brilliant arist and sewist, but also a genuine, humble, generous person. Funny thing is, the clothes she designes are often high-end, quite expensive (and rightly so as they're hand embroidered and embellished), yet she makes sure that you can make something similar even if you have very little money. She shares her designs, writes books, grows veggies in her garden and takes care of people who work for her, the community, and the environment. Someone said that she simply makes life more beautiful. Many people in her positio are after fame and money, she's not. None of those "celebrity" traits. I like her a lot. 🙂

I'm using regular 6 stranded embroidery floss and cotton fabric here. Nothing special. You can find an extensive list on my blog. There are many tutorials and guides, too. It is linked in my profile, or at pumora.com

haha!! I thought the mushroom was the only real one!!! I went to look again before coming to the comments and thought MAYBE number 1 might be real, but I was right the first time! It's not just the hoop closure that tells the story - it's the embroidery itself in some. Some just seem overly complex and just don't look efficient enough for a person to try. Some of the embroidery looks strange - like it was coiled a thousand times. And some of the embroidery flows way too smoothly and just not the way yarn would look. Then some of the backgrounds also looked weird in that AI way and some of the strokes just don't look like yarn at all - they don't make "thread" sense. The images are pretty though - some. The mushroom looked fake, too - the cap and stem don't look real unless the person brushed the yarn after or something to give it a fuzzy effect. I started to say all were AI, but something about it seemed true. All those knots on the cap are super cool.
@Pumora
@Pumora Ай бұрын
The crazy thing is, these pictures where created in 2023. The AI embroidery created now is much more difficult to point out. Especially if you look at it casually without expecting to find anything AI-like on it. Only at second glance it is visible. Interesting that you thought the mushroom was fake, too. Sometimes the camera blends pixels or oversaturates things. However, the stem and cap are just plain needlepainting without brushing or something. I can't see the fuzzy effect you are talking about. But see, if you look closely, you can suspect AI everywhere even if it is not there :D

1ST SHE DID CROSS STICH AND THEN SATIN STICH?
@Pumora

The outline is made with split stitches. Then there is a layer of satin stitches on top. The outline helps to get cleaner edges for satin stitch.

Some stitches are very economic. I can see most of those stitches all around the world. It is very interesting that some techniques seem to be universal.

i searched "what activities are similar to sewing?" on google and the top answers were "knitting and cross stitching", i thought they were both difficult to do, but now that i know how to do cross stitches, i only thing the knitting is difficult. Ngl, i actually assumed this was how to cross stitch but i wasn't sure so i watched a tutorial lol
