I guess UNIT doesn't do a thorough reference search on who is being brought in lol. I'm sure Lavinia Smith's photo (and age) would have been researched ahead of time by them. The Doctor didn't seem concerned either lol

Because in1970s Doctor Who, the UNIT contemporary stories were set five years ahead of the original year of broadcast to try to make some of the outlandish aspects of the plot seem more plausible.

This just further confirms to me that Jamie had romantic feelings for Victoria. And she did for him too albeit more subtly

Frazer Hines confirmed to fans that his character was in love with Victoria
@TheWhovinerd-196322 күн бұрын
@ I’m glad about that because it’s apparent from the beginning to the end of their time together. Especially the end because Jamie is reluctant to let Victoria go because he clearly has romantic feelings for her. In this particular scene he’s incredibly flirty with her. Victoria seems to reciprocate these feelings because in this scene she tells off Jamie like his wife would. It’s actually so cute 🥰. Victorias departure is very sad for me and i prefer her to Zoe. Xx

Watch McCoy from 2:18 on, he is NOT doing what he appears to be. He is not smirking at Aces reaction to the beacon, he has just won one match in a very important battle & cant keep his delight to himself. He is in control of the entire situation & manipulating Ace without her (or the audience) realizing. That is what makes The 7th Doctor the most ruthless & dangerous of all the characters incarnations.

I adored Lalla as Romana. But it would be most interesting to see who could play a regenerated Romana at some point (and hopefully soon) in the current series.

It's rather funny how the Doctor found time, after having been sent an urgent message from the Brigadier while on the Nerva Becon has found time to make a quick detour (Sarah and Harry most likely remained inside the TARDIS for some unknown reason...) to the 1970s (or maybe the 1980s) in order to visit a cinema to watch some cartoons (one of them being entitled 'Clock Cleaners' which is somewhat apt) and a few film previews until UNIT (maybe with a little help from Torchwood?) to find out what he was doing and to hurry up and get to 1970s (or maybe the 1980s, in any case it wouldn't be any time before 1979) Scotland.😂 That said as it turned out the emergency was ultimately all over oil, which we really needed (and still do) to stop being overly dependent on...😢 Happy Times and Places🎉

Sarah was a highly intelligent person but this scene made her out to be a bit thick. It should have been obvious to her that the reason her 1980 existed was because Sutekh was stopped in 1911 and the only person remotely capable of doing so in that time period was the Doctor.
@ethenallen13886 ай бұрын
I think that the screenwriters took her out of her normally intelligent character to give us this scene and show us just how powerful Suteck was.
