Having the SMP 300 from Casino Royale and the Planet Ocean from Quantum of Solace I don't think there's just one brand or model that can be considered a "Bond watch". Bond is a very pragmatic guy and he would choose and make use of any watch that fulfills his requirements. He certainly wouldn't have any issues if his watch were a Breitling Superocean, a Tag Heuer Aquaracer or a JLC Master Compressor. I think a perfect match would also be the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Beautiful enough to wear it with a tux as well.

My watch is the same model and was manufactured in 1998. When I opened the back of the watch to replace the battery, I noticed that there’s no battery retaining spring to hold the battery in place between the watch and the cover. Is this normal? Can I use a 371 battery without the spring?

A nicely put together video but the central argument behind it is completely down to your own subjective preference towards Omega. The Rolex Submariner seen in the first 4 Connery Bond films is the ultimate Bond watch. It was Terence Young’s own personal watch loaned to Connery and those watches, both by Rolex and sister company Tudor, would have been issued to special forces at the time. And given that Goldfinger is seen by many as the pinnacle of the Bond franchise, he one that solidified the template and perfected the formula, featuring more iconic moments, lines, villains, Bond girls than any other Bond film as well as THAT DB5, then the watch he’s wearing surely gains an iconic status to match. The implementation of Rolex into the films happened naturally through Young as opposed to the more recent marketing move with Omega paying for the exclusivity.

My understanding is that you do not use metal tweezers to pick up a battery because you are shorting the two poles, + and -, with the metal tweezer being the jumper. I believe it advised that you use non-conductive tweezers made of wood or plastic. I also believe that you should not handle the internals of a watch with un-gloved hands so that you avoid moisture and other chemicals that could cause corrosion.

I have multiple Forstner bracelets for my Seamasters. They are high quality.

The bullet bracelet looks like it was made for that Breitling (btw that Breitling ana-digi is awesome, get it working!) I HATE Seiko bracelets so much it turned off bracelets for years! That one looks good and I only like milled clasps, stamped clasps are cheep. Ha! when I was in HS in the 80s I had a stretch bracelet for my watch and yeah I hated it pulling on my arm hair.

The step to Daniël Craig is not interested to me. The black Seamaster is a beautiful watch and a “simple” watch with a good wave pattern. It is not a shiny watch, so I love it.

Great video!! All very good points! I think No Time to Die gets a lot of hate, but there's a lot to love in it. Honestly, the movie works so well up until the scene with Blofeld. After that, Safin and Bond don't have a lot of reason to pursue each other and the plot falls apart. And I think with a little thought, and some extra dialogue they could have written a compelling reason for Bond to go after Safin... At least all of the sequences are good! It's a shame it went that way for Craig's last movie. Would have loved to see him go out in a movie of the calibre of Skyfall. I NEED to add that Seamaster to my collection! 😍

While not official I guess...and certainly not Orlebar Brown...I bought a swimsuit recently from a company called Bang Miami.....and they had several versions of the Casino Royale color and pattern. They had something for every body type. I bought the "resort shorts" so I could have his swimsuit on our recent trip without needing his 2006 physique. I liked it a lot. My wife thought it was a cool swimsuit without knowing where it was from.

It's Craig's best simply because finally it goes somewhat back to the Bond formula. Especially Matera even the pre-title scenes are all good and of course maybe the only thing all Bond fans agree the Cuba scene. The end is terrible but so is Moonraker in space with laser, so what?
