Does anyone know if the volume goes up as you increase speed on the avin like the factory radio?

It is always shit. Even if this works (which not) the sound quality is worse than businessCD with Harman Kardon. And there is visual... Looks bad in 20years Old interior. I keep mine bone stock with hidden BT HIFI receiver for AUX Spotify. The only mod I done (i got full black interior) is the Red Cruise button on the steering wheel from M3 Comp. Leave the classic BMW alone with those "modern" changes.

What’s the real life difference between the four different CPU options? There are PX4, PX6 and two different Qualcomm options. I’d like to use fluent apple car play navigation. Will be the PX4 configuration sufficient enough? Also: The base configuration does already include wired apple car play right? I only need to purchase the separate adapter if I need wireless CarPlay. Is that correct?

Thanks a million for the “tip” about using a zip tie to pull the back up camera cable thru the rubber boot (from the trunk lid to body)!!!! Worked like a charm.

Buyer beware! 1) This company touts”free online tech support”. It is free and it is on line, but nobody available at the time of your install. They’re on line sporadically and around 7-8pm central time. They always refer you back to their install guides which are a little confusing and not user friendly. 2) I’m experiencing poor contrast on sunny days. The display they sell you has brightness control but not contrast. The brightness isn’t as bright as it needs to be. 3) I paid an extra $8 for 7 day shipping because I was excited to install the new display. The display came with a defective cable that prevents the use of my backup camera and completing the installation. The cable was deemed defective the same day and one week later, I still don’t have the replacement cable. So the 7 day shipping I paid for was useless. 4) The USB connection is useless. You can only connect your phone via Bluetooth. 5) DO NOT PURCHASE THIS UNIT IF YOU DO NOT POSSESS AN ABOVE AVERAGE KNOWLEDGE OF ELECTRONICS AND COMPUTERS. There’s quite a bit that you need to tinker with to get this thing half way decent. 6) Just not worth the money. I’m on the process of filing a claim through PayPal.

Got an M3 with one of these already installed recently, trying to figure out how to get Apple Carplay setup... I don't have the Autoplay app installed, nor do I see it on the app store. Does it still exist? Is wired carplay available on this or just wireless with the dongle?

Horrible experience so far. My unit never really worked. Would work for a couple of hours then kept crashing/rebooting, then ultimately just wouldn't work for more than a few seconds before crashing. Return under warranty has been really frustrating as they authorized and received my return but I have not been shipped a replacement! BEWARE!!!

The person that installed my avant 4 unit left an annoying static noise when the volume is up and he couldn’t figure out why my rear dash camera wasn’t working and my digital tv isn’t working too. I’m in NYC and I see that your from NJ is there anyway you can recommend your friend to fix my installation issues I would pay him for the service just a bit disappointed with my installation.

Hey how did you keep your illumination on because I already adjusted mine and it doesn’t stay on for a long time it turns off that’s one of the reason I bought this unit because of the cool lights you change too. Any help I would really appreciate it because Avin customer support can takes forever

Hey man, im in need of serious assistance. I need help trying to figure out my Avant 4 unit. All of the videos that i found reguarding this unit are all running the older version of android. I paid a large amount of money to get this unit installed. 1. I need a better instruction of how to install the autoplay carplay application - I have the wireless carplay optiion and im unable to figure out how to use it because the app is not installed ? Do i connect the unit to wifi and install the app directly from the store? ? Do i have to copy the download from the website THIS THING IS SADLY NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL - I am also unhappy that i need to use the A2dp app for bluetooth music instead of running it through the head unit "music" section. you say its easy to use, im having such a hard time. I also have the better version the px6 i believe. I also need help editing my screen configuration, all of these apps are present that i dont really need. Please, im honestly in a panic, i have so much money into this system and im unhappy. If you could help me id be so relieved. Let me know. I believe you are the only one able to help.

I have the exact same unit. Mine is producing an audible hiss from right side speakers when the volume is not muted, but the unit does not play anything. And the hiss goes away when you press the volume knob to mute it fully. I can hear it very clearly coming from right side speakers. Did you notice that on yours?

How is the radio reception been told on the Android radios the reception not good esp on German cars, I will also request you review the I-bus app in depth otherwise great review and good job.. Keep them rolling

hey RJ, looks good! question about the IBus app. From your install video, i noticed that you didnt install the IBUS USB adapter.. does that mean the IBUS app you mention here doesnt actually work on your head unit at the moment? I noticed that they are currently out of stock on the Avin website. Will you be doing another install video of how to do this in the future?

Just for the record; the bootup is quick because it doesn't switch off. it's always on half asleep and that's why it's ready when you turn the key. I believe after 2 or three days of the car not starting then it will switch itself off and you'll see the bootup logo etc.

Looks like you replaced the business cd with hk system. I have the same setup. Are you getting any speaker hiss like I am? I heard sending speaker level outputs from the avin unit to the stock hk amp may cause issues. Thoughts?
