Beautiful work Kyle. Are you based in Dubai or Japan?

Hello! Thank you for watching and for your kind words! I’m currently based in Dubai, where I teach karate and shakuhachi, but I also have a strong connection with Japan, where I frequently visit for training, performances, and cultural events. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to know more!

What a beautiful and warm tone. Why did you coat the bore in this one?
@KyleChomei2 ай бұрын
Hi Peter, thank you for your kind words 🙏 I’m glad you enjoyed the tone. I coated the bore of this particular instrument to protect it from molding, and it has worked out perfectly as planned!

Sometimes KZbin throws up a real gem, such as this. I have always wondered how this was done, and it does seem to be even more complicated and skilled than I had imagined!

Thank you so much for your kind words! It warms my heart to know that the intricate dance of bamboo and craftsmanship resonates with you. Crafting a Ji-Nashi Shakuhachi is indeed a journey of patience and skill, a harmony of nature and artisan. I’m grateful for my teachers and for your appreciation 🙏 Warm regards, Kyle Chōmei

I don't know what it is about shakuhachi that are in A, but they all have me falling in love. This one that you've made and shared here makes me smile. The sound is warm, round, and has all of those fine subtleties found in a good shakuhachi. Someone will be fortunate to receive and play this gift. Thank you Kyle.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I’m thrilled to hear that you enjoyed this shakuhachi in A and that it brought a smile to your face. It’s always wonderful to know that the subtleties and warmth of the instrument resonate with others. Your kind words mean a lot to me. Someone will indeed be fortunate to play it, and I’m grateful to share this beautiful instrument with others. Thank you Peter 🙏

I really love this! I used to be a semi-professional musician on stringed instruments. Once I started playing flutes, I found that I cared more about playing for my health and the health of others. I think flutes made me less selfish.
