This video was invaluable to me. I spent around 3 hours trying the boiling water, blower dryer, heat gun, torch, hot punch, etc...all ending in failure and frustration. It was laughable how easy it was once I did it this way. I'm definitely throwing those pieces of wood in the toolbox. They should come standard with the repair kit. Thank you so much!

Cool thanks for sharing! My 3/8" nylon straight connector to the fuel filter on my 98 saturn sc2 was leaking when running, it appeared the O-rings were bad. I bought Dorman 3/8" replacement connectors 2 pack from auto zone part 800-082. Smaller connectors are 5/16" I used tweezers and a pic and small screw driver to remove new o rings from one of the new connectors replace the 2 o rings and it still leaked so it must have had a hairline crack or other defect. So I was able to remove the old connector and put on a new connector and fix the problem without cutting. It was tricky. Wearing gloves, I used a heat gun to carefully warm, but not to much, the barb tube area but the old connector would not pull out. So I used a drill bit thinking maybe I could drill out the barb area through the throat of the connector and then collapse the thinned barb. I used progressively larger drill bits and found the connector would often spin with the bit. So I was able to warm the tube barb area and then spin and pull on my battery drill and got the connector barbs to release. I applied oil to the new connector barbs and got it in half way and then all the way once I heated the tube again, working around it no more than 10 seconds on low setting. The new barbs were almost a perfect match for the old barbs. No leaks. Take care

i spent an entire day dicking around with trying to get that fuel line on the fitting. nothing worked. this coming weekend, i am going to try this. i will be tickled pink if it works. the level of frustration was very high last weekend, and i have high hopes.

Awesome video and thank you for sharing. My question relates to those bolts... Are they capable of handling the 16,000lbs the winch is rated for? Or would you recommend welding it all together?

Neat trick. I think an improvement you could do to your holding block is to enlarge the hole on the end big enough for the expanded tube to fit in. That way you could install the tube flush and the end of the tube would be prevented from moving around as the fittin is being hammered in.

Avoid using silicone lubricants or sealants anywhere near the engine. It may get in the intake, burn in the engine and poison the lambda sensor in the exhaust manifold. Lubricate with motor oil instead.

it look weak, only two bolts to supports the winch ok, but if you neddit to use the weight of the truck and the power of winch, everything will fly away jajaaja, is my impression.

I appreciate the attention to detail in trying to make a budget friendly(ish) kac m110k1 clone. The NY compliant barrel profile helps with the look as well as the mock gas block. I don't think the knights suppressor mount gas block will work without pinning it to the barrel. The m&p 10 lower receiver is a true ambi lower while the knights lacks the ability to lock the bolt using the right side.

Lubricating with silicon is NOT a good idea. Silicon will not evaporate and will remain on the fitting and line allowing it to slide off when fuel pressure is applied. Easy on - easy off.

You are a Master Craftsman! I have a '96 K2500 Suburban, Gas, but I live in CA so I think I am going to need to put a front receiver hitch and then mount the winch that way. CA requires a front tag.
