I've enjoyed this video clip of the roofbox RTL.. Lovely bus, RTL 1427? Correct? Anyway, it's a pleasure first seeing the lower saloon of the vehicle and then a wonderful view of the upper deck. Great stuff! I hear the Leyland characteristics of the RTL yet with a hint of the AEC RT. Nice video.

You have probably found out by now, but it is enamel coated copper wire and looks like a corded hand drill in some sort of mount, possibly off an old drill press.

This is exactly what we want to see of Myanmar! Real life. Like Gabriel Traveler and Indigo Traveller. Real life! The sarongs, or whatever they are, look nice. The gulls like fresh seafood. I think we have the largest population of Burmese in the country. If I wanted to learn the language it would work well. To travel to Burma. A few phrases, perhaps. Thailand is okay. I think Myanmar is more interesting. Biblically speaking, they are black(s), like in Africa.

Hi Sebastian, yes I felt safe walking around the market on my own -- the one in my video. Very good experience, I loved it there. I arrived by train from Mandalay, it took 17 hours ! -- boarded the train in Mandalay at 4 am and arrived in Lashio at 9 pm. It travelled across the very high Gokteik viaduct. -- I have a video on KZbin crossing this viaduct, if you can find it. I was only in Lashio 2 nights and it was raining so didn't do much there, but did take a taxi for a tour of the sites. The hotel I stayed in was: -- 'Golden Hill Hotel' 5 mins walk to that market. Kind regards Eric in London England.

Eric GRANGE. Thanks for your reply, 17 hours seems way too much to bear inisde train without moving , plus I heard that lashio now is in a dangerous zone area to visit . How long did it tale to cross the gorge aqueduct? Do u think it will be worth it to commute all way to hsipaw just to experience the gorge aqueduct ? Another question, did u visit any beach in burma? Did u visit loikaw town where the ladies w long neck live? Thanks again Sebastian
@ericgrange38116 жыл бұрын
Hi Sabastian, I didn't go to any beaches or Loikaw. The train takes about 8 mins to cross the Gokteik viaduct. I think you should take the train to Hsipaw then back to Mandalay. You will never forget the experience. If you type in -- youtube video the gokteik viaduct in myanmar february 2016 -- you will see my 13 mins video crossing the viaduct. -- regards Eric.

Thanks Eric again, honestly Im not 100% sure if I would be able to put up with long hours inside the train just to experience 8 min crossing the viaduct, Im sure it will be an unforgettable experience but other than the 8 min ride, I wonder if the rest of the trip would be so dragging and uncomfortable considering no A/C and the heat.

Hi SniffyPoo, taking a Taxi from the Guest House where I was staying -- to Yangon Station. I left early so the English speaking Taxi driver did a tour of Yangon. I gave him a big tip -- I didn't ask him but he came into the Station with me and made sure that I boarded the correct train because there are I think six platforms ! really glad he did because as you say there aren't any English signs ! I did the same in Mandalay -- this was 03.30 in the morning and the Taxi driver took me to the correct train and sat talking with me until the train was ready to leave to Lashio -- I don't think this would happen in the UK ! -- I hope you have a Great time -- Eric in England.
