I've had a pair of these my entire life (I'm 42) that i got from my grandpa. They are some of the best sounding vintage speakers I have heard. I have bought other speakers to "upgrade" but I've always gotten rid of em and gone back to the mcs. I absolutely love them!

I ditched my component system when I moved into a small senior 1 bedroom apartment and this is all I need...it is more than adequate for the whole apartment without using max volume. Perfect for downsizing from excess equipment. Neighbors don't complain about it yet it fills the apartment with quality sound. Sounds as good as a Bose.

@@ncgpfuok if it comes with rem and speakers and is in good cosmetic condition, that’s a pretty fair price. For resale I wouldn’t go any higher than $40.00

How do you turn on the alarm?

I believe you Press and hold the alarm button and the alarm set time will start flashing. Then you press the time hour and minute button to set the desired alarm time then you press the alarm button again to set the alarm time then you can choose buzzer AM/FM or CD on the right side of the unit. Then if you want to confirm the alarm time, set press and quickly release the alarm button to check it and if you want to turn the alarm off or on, I believe you toggle through the alarm button until the alarm light is on.

I know my Sony mini hi-fi system what i used to have did the exactly the same thing it i turned the volume up by the knob it was turning back down.

There’s actually a sensor that’s inside the volume dial that each time it passes it it’s supposed to go down, but for some reason it goes up

I have the NA 767 and I am pretty sure that it goes up to 50 and starts flashing. I’ve had it since I graduated high school in 99 brand new. I’ll have to get it out and test it. I’ve had it packed away in a box for a while since I moved to Tennessee from Maryland. I have a lot of my collectibles and glassware still in boxes. I’ll have to do an unboxing video of some of the stuff I’ve packed and are still in box after box after box!

Interesting. That seems to have the same audio glitch problem my old aiwa cx-nhma 56 had, probably a common defect for entry level AIWA stereo systems to develop I guess.

The crappy sounding audio could be because of my cell phone that I had didn’t record audio too well back then. Now I have an iPhone 13 promax that does way better!

This sounds really good. So many idiots online cry "oh its only 9 watts oh its awful, its paper , its cheap, it sounds terrible, waah wahh wahh" i looked it up, this sold back then for the today's price of $500 ***at wal-mart*** so this was not some cheap throwaway thing.

You are correct, they do not know about radios and they do not even know how to upgrade these awesome devices. These are great radios, if you can get one that is working great , get it, they are not cheap radios by no means - it is people that have no clue that do not understand the value ...

I don’t think Smartcare means it’s Wi-Fi capable or can be monitored using a smart phone. I think that just means caring for your clothes.

I saw 2 at goodwill for $10 each but no transmitter. Was gonna buy them to blow up but I didn’t. Now I’m thinking they may be decent speakera

Yeah you can actually plug a battery powered bluetooth adapter into the 3.5mm plug and upgrade it to bluetooth. They have the adapters on ebay for like $10-20. Wonder if the speaker batt will hold a charge?

Found this one from Goodwill and all it needed was a tape head cleaning but it sounds and records great. Aiwa boomboxes from the late 90s usually were shitty and broke easily, the stereo systems probably were made better
