@@kbittorf335 I disagree, those are Pontiac tail lights so I'm 100% sure it's a mid 70s Superior Pontiac.

Hmm, I watched it again. I once had a 1974 Olds C/B that looked strikingly similar even the inside of the rear door detail. The ditch lights and chrome cross on the side were the same too.

@@kbittorf335 Superiors and Miller Meteors/Cotner Bevingtons were indeed somewhat similar in appearance. Only Superior built on the Pontiac chassis, as Cotner Bevington built (almost) exclusively on the Oldsmobile chassis. The chrome ambulance crosses were quite similar on both types, but only Superior had the upper and lower horizontal 'jet streak' design, while Miller Meteor/Cotner Bevington used less 'italic' styled chrome crosses with no horizontal upper and lower trim pieces. Additionally, Superiors had a more squared off look to their high-top ambulance bodies, while M-M and C/B featured more rounded styling on their all metal high-top ambulance bodies. Regarding the ditch lights, they were indeed similar across virtually all ambulance builders of the era, but there were some slight differences. But again, in my opinion the Pontiac station wagon tail lights on this rig are the dead giveaway. The Superior Pontiacs continued using the same tail lights that were introduced on Pontiac station wagons starting in 1971 while the Cotner Bevington Oldsmobiles continued to use the Regency 98 rear quarter panels, and tail lights.

Lol, a study was actually conducted in Rochester, MN that proved chest compressions were more effective in this style ambulance because the attendants were able to brace their backs against the ceiling! Sadly, out of hospital survival hasn’t really improved since this style of ambulance was phased out.

​@@kbittorf335 of course the modern days will phase out the better stuff. The only problem i see with using these again is they need better sirens and lights as it would have to be up to code.

@@That_2_guy2TThe problem with using these again is they’re incredibly cramped inside. Modern ambulances have room for more equipment and personnel, which is why car-derived ambulances were phased out, worldwide, decades ago.

@@corolere IDK what it is, but I like them better with the gumball type light rather then a light bar

@@corolere bizarre to hear an original electronic reverse alarm on a pre 1975 or so emergency vehicle... especially a Caddy. Normally, it's fire trucks that get to have such an option.

@@shaneharrisnj3484 Actually, the siren heard from 1:09 to 1:17 sure sounds like a Q1 or Q2 to me.

@@STLSF though the siren that's actually heard on TV is a B&M S8., that same recording that would be used on "Emergency!" And "Cars"

They kept it until 1977, fact is the Dietz beacon is a "hill light", the next generation of lights were mounted on a Whelen crossbar so more aerodynamic.
